This summer, a report, external by the University of Warwick and Campaign for the Arts warned the UK’s art sector was “on the brink of collapse”.

The government estimates that creative industries generated £126bn in gross value added to the economy and employed 2.4 million people in 2022.

A theatre has been earmarked for closure as council cuts hit arts across the country.

Derby Folk Weekend starts TONIGHT in The Old Bell Hotel Derby, and the city's in for a treat.
