Not long now until we welcome Autin Dance Theatre to the Furthest from the Sea Festival with their enthralling performance of 'Out of the Deep Blue' - we really cannot wait!
It tells the magical story of Eko, a 13-foot sea giant, who rises from the deep ocean and encounters, on the shore, a courageous little girl called Violet. This fabulous family show explores the climate emergency, told beautifully through dance, movement and masterful puppeteering.
Audiences will be treated to two performances of this spectacular show during the Festival on Saturday 25th June at Cathedral Green, Derby, both in the morning and afternoon. So please join us for a fun-filled day from 10am-4pm with live music, dance, creative workshops and of course, pirates!
Thanks to the support of Arts Council England, this event is completely free and everyone welcome.
We getting really excited now for our Festival which is less than 3 weeks away! Live music, dance, fun workshops, story corner, creativity galore and the Derby premiere of 'Out of the Deep Blue' performed by Autin Dance Theatre.

Weโre beyond delighted to announce this spectacular addition to the ninth Furthest from the Sea Festival in Derby city centre on Saturday 25th June, 10am โ 4pm.
Itโs not every day a 13-foot-tall Sea Giant comes to town - get the date in your diary and follow Furthest From the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts for all the details of Derbyโs free family pirate festival.
Out Of The Deep Blue, from Autin Dance Theatre, tells a moving tale about our earth's climate emergency through dance, movement and masterful puppeteering. This outdoor spectacle featuring Eko, a 13-foot-tall Sea Giant Puppet, is brought to Derby by Furthest From the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts thanks to public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England. The Furthest from the Sea Festival is also supported by Derby City Council and many wonderful local organisations and individuals.
