Today is the first weekend that I am spending at home for quite a while. What, no weddings? I know Insta is for sharing happy wedding celebrations, but boy oh boy, what a loss to the entertainment industry this week. I will treasure this picture even more than I did.
This weekend, BBC Radio 2 is to air a tribute to Sir Michael Parkinson who passed away on Wednesday night.
The special Sunday Night is Music Night from the London Palladium, which was first aired in 2018, follows Sir Michael’s love affair with music. Guest vocalists featuring include Joe Stilgoe, Alison Jiear, Gwyn Jay Allen and Hailey Tuck, together with the sixty-piece BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Big Band.
Sunday Night Is Music Night – a Tribute to Sir Michael Parkinson can be heard on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday, 20 August 8pm – 10pm and is available on BBC Sounds now.
Rest in peace Sir Michael. You were a true gent. x

The question is … what WILL he have on under his kilt??? Tell you Sunday!Luckily Millie Scott will be playing the bagpipes, not me. Phew!
If there is one thing that speaks volumes about my business, it’s the smile that welcomes to your congregation, it’s the warmth that makes you feel safe, and my energy that guarantees you and your friends and family a wonderful ceremony. Hang on, that was three things!!!

It was wonderful working with Heidi and Daniel, not only officiating their wedding, but arranging the music for them on the day. This involved editing their music to perfection, so that their entrances were timed, and ensuring that everything flowed seamlessly.
With a Disney theme present, I read the Closing Words over the introduction to I SEE THE LIGHT from "Tangled", which lead into the song. This segued perfectly into the more celebratory ENCHANTED SUITE from "Enchanted", as they exited to applause and cheers from their loved ones.
Music is such an important part of your celebration.
Take the time to ensure it all flows well.
It makes such a difference on the day.
It was so wonderful helping Heidi and Daniel plan the music for their wedding at Ashridge House last month.

When I first came into contact with the awesome Michelle from Class Act Production, we just clicked from the get-go.I've never laughed so much.
In the wedding industry, working with people who are on the same page, have the same work ethics, humour, attention to detail ... it's worth it's weight in gold. And the team she works alongside are exceptionally good at what they do!

You know you've done your job well, when you get to the end of the Script read through, and your bride starts crying, which makes the groom cry too. Nooooo, don't cry!I'm writing a very special wedding ceremony for J&G who are getting married at Abington Park in Hampshire. Not that I want to make my couples cry, but having spent all day yesterday editing music, recording the closing dialogue over it so they could hear EXACTLY what the end of the ceremony will sound like, seeing them both well up this morning gave me the assurance that I'd done my best for them.
It's going to be perfect. I won't have it any other way.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Springer in 2003. He was generous with his sentiments and such an intelligent man. He hosted one of the most controversial television shows in the 90s that made him a household name worldwide. My thoughts to his friends and family.

Halloween wedding at Lanwades Hal yesterday. A little bit gothic, a little bit glam, fun,personal, fairground rides, and a ceremony that reflected the extraordinary love my bride and groom share. Safe in the extraordinary hands of wedding planner Vanessa and this was a perfect way to close the wedding season for 2022. I'm loving having the time to look back over some of my 2022 weddings, the amazing couples I met, and the ceremonies we created together.
It's always fun getting the groom and his band of merry men smiling before the service begins, and Tom's chaps were no exception. A glorious outdoor ceremony in the Japanese Gardens at Fanham's Hall in Ware, Tom and Hannah were simply radiant. Cherry blossom and love in the air.
I had the pleasure of officiating the wedding celebration of his beautiful couple, Sarah and Shiraz, at Braxted Park. 💖👰🏻♀️
An intimate wedding in the Knott Garden, Sarah and Shiraz's ceremony included some Arabic elements and prayers, making it so personal to them and their family and friends.

Even if you're based in Amsterdam, that doesn't stop us from planning a wedding together.
This was the kind of wedding that makes me grin from ear to ear. With their son and other children playing on bean bags during the ceremony, this wedding was REAL!!!!
In the gardens of a private home on Richmond Common, this was truly a personal wedding day. Not even the rain spoilt it for this stunning couple.

I can't believe it's FOUR YEARS since this wonderful couple were wed at The Hospital Club in London. It was a day for celebration. Having known one of the grooms for nearly 30 years, it was a joy to see him (and his husband) SO in love.
Their joy was, and still is, so infectious and so genuine.

It was great to be at @ashridgehouse yesterday for their Spring Summer Wedding Showcase, meeting other preferred suppliers, fabulous wedding planners, and many loved-up couples planning their Wedding Day. Whilst I tend to shy away from talking about my 37-year career in the Arts, something I still enjoy, this is what makes me...ME! One of the guests challenged me yesterday to sing "Wise men say" for her on the spot. Pause... "Sure!" I smiled and sang the first verse to "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You", (going for more of a Haley Reinhart vibe than Elvis). She cried. Her daughter welled up. Which made me well up. 🤣 I love my job! Music has the ability to move people. I wouldn't sing my bride down the aisle "belting it out" like I do when I'm on stage. Scriptwriting is my favourite thing to do .. especially when I have to write an introduction for a ringbearer as cute as Simba! Extra pressure, when the ONLY other person to have their dog at a ceremony in this first class wedding venue was Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones. And we managed to keep it a secret from the congregation. NB - Noone knew this little fella was making an appearance. "When choosing a ring bearer for today’s proceedings, there really was only ONE contender for the job. (drums start) One who is brave. One who is fearless. A "king of beasts". A "mighty king" who clearly wears the crown in the Stratford household and today, he IS ‘standing in the spotlight’. Here’s Simbaaaaaaa!!!!" I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KING (Lion King) bellowed from the speakers in the Main Hall, and Simba came bounding down the stairs to his Mummy and Daddy. WEDDING MUSIC!!!!!!! I have THE most incredible Bride and Groom to look after in March at the stunning Ashridge House. @ashridgehouse. ❤️ My couple, C & I have engaged an INCREDIBLE wedding vocalist in Laura (@ltw.singer) and I can simply concentrate on being a celebrant. But when it comes to making sure that the music is as perfect as it can be, I'm all in!!!! Laura and I found the final track but it didn't have any backing vocals ... well ... What a weekend ... for weeks, I’ve been working on not only a Surprise Proposal 💍 but also a Renewal of Vows Ceremony for a dream client and his beautiful wife of 11 years. ♥️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Note … she had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what he was planning.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Emails, telephone calls - all banned. She might see his phone.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WhatsApp video chats - working hours only.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I liaised with the venue as Mr. F. couldn’t risk Mrs. F. getting a sniff of what was happening. Boss … we bloody well did it!!!!!
