My first wedding for 2024 and what a beauty it was today. you and your lovely Simon are such a divine couple. You epitomise what it is to be in love. You both fill my heart with joy. Today is the first weekend that I am spending at home for quite a while. What, no weddings? ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I know Insta is for sharing happy wedding celebrations, but boy oh boy, what a loss to the entertainment industry this week. I will treasure this picture even more than I did.

This weekend, BBC Radio 2 is to air a tribute to Sir Michael Parkinson who passed away on Wednesday night.
The special Sunday Night is Music Night from the London Palladium, which was first aired in 2018, follows Sir Michael’s love affair with music. Guest vocalists featuring include Joe Stilgoe, Alison Jiear, Gwyn Jay Allen and Hailey Tuck, together with the sixty-piece BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Big Band.

Sunday Night Is Music Night – a Tribute to Sir Michael Parkinson can be heard on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday, 20 August 8pm – 10pm and is available on BBC Sounds now.

Rest in peace Sir Michael. You were a true gent. x

What a wonderful day last Friday at Fanham's Hall in Ware with Beth and Wes. Their Love Story is unique. Their ceremony needed to reflect that. Best Friends. Soulmates in every sense of the word. Their choice of music was so beautiful too. ​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​.

ONLY TWO SLEEPS til I’m back at Avington Park with the wonderful Alice Hudson and to marry a beautiful Burmese princess to her Scottish comedian Gregor. I mean it … he’s very funny!!! The question is … what WILL he have on under his kilt??? Tell you Sunday!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Luckily Millie Scott will be playing the bagpipes, not me. Phew!

It was wonderful working with Heidi and Daniel, not only officiating their wedding, but arranging the music for them on the day. This involved editing their music to perfection, so that their entrances were timed, and ensuring that everything flowed seamlessly.

With a Disney theme present, I read the Closing Words over the introduction to I SEE THE LIGHT from "Tangled", which lead into the song. This segued perfectly into the more celebratory ENCHANTED SUITE from "Enchanted", as they exited to applause and cheers from their loved ones.

Music is such an important part of your celebration.
Take the time to ensure it all flows well.
It makes such a difference on the day.

I truly pinch myself whenever I walk into this incredible venue. Ashridge House truly is the most beautiful wedding venue in Hertfordshire.

Even better than the venue itself, are the people who work there; each one committed to the role they play in ensuring the couples who marry there have THE most perfect day.
From the ceremony, to the after party, the care and attention they receive throughout the day, the beautiful menus they create, and the team of preferred suppliers they entrust with caring for their clients.

What a weekend.​​​​​​​​​The build-up to this wedding was a truly exciting one, and extra special, as unbeknownst to the bride and groom, I had several secret poignant elements to include in the ceremony. Thanks to the bride's sister in Virginia. :-) ​​​​​​​​​
Dale and Teri were beyond a pleasure to work with. They chose the most stunning venue in Avington Park in Wi******er, lead by Alice Alice and her team, Pippa from to plan and ensure the day's success, assisted efficiently by
Stunning flowers by and the venue was filled with beautiful furnishings by Pippa, Spooney and her amazing gang at Whoop!

When I first came into contact with the awesome Michelle from Class Act Production, we just clicked from the get-go.​​​​​​​​​I've never laughed so much.​​​​​​​​​
In the wedding industry, working with people who are on the same page, have the same work ethics, humour, attention to detail ... it's worth it's weight in gold. And the team she works alongside are exceptionally good at what they do!

To me, connection is about energy. And Michelle from Class Act has it in bucket loads. Looking forward to collaborating with Michelle and the team in the future. We've got some fab ideas and I am so proud to be affiliated with them.

It's going to be NO fun at all!!!!

A client said to me this morning, “You do so many different things.”​​​​​​​​​I do … and every now and again you have a weekend like THIS weekend,​​​​​​​​​but I always manage to turn up with a smile, cos I love everything that I do.
This weekend is a bit crazy, but I’m ready for it.

Friday morning - Wedding rehearsal at
Friday night - road trip with the pooch.
Saturday - James Bond concert with Opera North
Drive back to Hertfordshire
Sunday - Wedding at
Drive to Blackpool
Sunday night - Blackpool Pride
Monday morning - Breakfast with my mate
Drive back to Hertfordshire
Monday night - a well-deserved soak in the bath.

But this is what makes me ME!!!!!
Full of Life. Full of Love. Full of beans.
Wherever you see me this weekend,

Wonderful to work with the super efficient and lovely Megan at this morning. When you have a bridal party of ten, and you want everything to be perfect, a rehearsal is a must. working with so many extraordinary couples at the moment, and each of them possess unique personalities and ideas when it comes to what makes for a fabulous ceremony. I just love guiding them through this process.

Most important thing ... as one of my grooms pointed out this evening (thanks Jay)... is to have a ceremony that is a true reflection of who you are, as individuals and as a couple. That's totally it. Nailed it!

If you'd like a wedding that is traditional, I have great respect for that approach, but with a celebrant you can have something sooooo personal. So you! If you want some a little 'extra' just shout. I'm listening.

You know you've done your job well, when you get to the end of the Script read through, and your bride starts crying, which makes the groom cry too. Nooooo, don't cry!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I'm writing a very special wedding ceremony for J&G who are getting married at Abington Park in Hampshire. Not that I want to make my couples cry, but having spent all day yesterday editing music, recording the closing dialogue over it so they could hear EXACTLY what the end of the ceremony will sound like, seeing them both well up this morning gave me the assurance that I'd done my best for them.

It's going to be perfect. I won't have it any other way.

Stunning outdoor wedding the day after the King's Coronation. We were all praying for the sun to come out, and BOY did it come out!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​I got a lovely message from my bride after recovering from the festivities...

"Hi Alison.
I just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you put into being our celebrant for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect, and so many of our guests have commented on how incredible you were. You completely won over everyone’s hearts. Thank you for being so patient in our chaotic process and for making the whole ceremony so personalised and heartfelt. I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Springer in 2003. He was generous with his sentiments and such an intelligent man. He hosted one of the most controversial television shows in the 90s that made him a household name worldwide. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​My thoughts to his friends and family.

Halloween wedding at Lanwades Hal yesterday. A little bit gothic, a little bit glam, fun,personal, fairground rides, and a ceremony that reflected the extraordinary love my bride and groom share. Safe in the extraordinary hands of wedding planner Vanessa and this was a perfect way to close the wedding season for 2022. When the doors opened and this beautiful bride appeared there were visible gasps. Rightly so. WOW. Just stunning ❤️ you looked incredible and your husband looked sooooooo handsome. It's always fun getting the groom and his band of merry men smiling before the service begins, and Tom's chaps were no exception. I can't believe it's FOUR YEARS since this wonderful couple were wed at The Hospital Club in London. It was a day for celebration. Having known one of the grooms for nearly 30 years, it was a joy to see him (and his husband) SO in love.​​​​​​​​
