I visited the lovely team at Vale Plus - an independent day service who offers opportunities for adults with additional learning needs. I delivered a circus performance and a 1.5 hour circus workshop for all of their service users. They were such a good group to work with, so much laughter and they really got into the spirit of the morning.

We went 3 instructors to Pangbourne College on a mission to create a circus performance in a day. Kevin, Arthur and Sam taught loads of circus skills including unicycling, tight-rope, juggling, devil stick, diabolo and lots more. The students learned all these skills then used them to create their own circus performance. Here is the feedback from the booker:"This year's event was another fantastic success. All three instructors (Sam, Kevin and Arthur) were great with the children all day, and the show at the end went down really well with the parents who came to watch. The level pitched was perfect, and the enjoyment was sustained throughout the day. Many thanks to all concerned."

We retuned to Downs Junior School in Brighton, East Sussex again to kick off the start of their new school year. We delivered classes to all of their Y3 and Y5's. Circus in the classroom!

We delivered a workshop for the charity Macs. It was a weekend event for their "Thrive at Thirty" celebration. MACS supports children and adults who have one of, or sometimes a combination of, three eye conditions: Microphthalmia (small eye), Anophthalmia (no eye) and Coloboma (gap in the structure of the eye). Around 114 children are born with a MACS condition in the UK every year. I set up a circus workshop area and delivered a workshop for all visitors. I particularly enjoyed using our"juggle boards" at this event. Using this prop we made the juggling experience accessible for participants who are partially sighted or blind.

Circus Allstars teamed back up with Mid Sussex District council to deliver playday events all over Mid-Sussex. We visited Haywards Heath, East Grinstead, Burgess Hill and many other locations to provide circus workshops that are free for the public to access. I feel really lucky to be involved in this public spirited project and I keep my fingers crossed for many more playdays ahead!

I taught an accessible circus skills workshop at Chailey Heritage, West Sussex last week. It was a lovely experience. I really enjoyed making circus skills a sensory, tactile and accessible experience and I hope I get to visit again soon...😊

Wowzer Wednesday in Burgess HIll West Sussex ☺

It was lovely to see lots of children enjoying the free circus skills on Wednesday, on Church Walk, as part of our Wowzer Wednesday series!
