Today we thought we would take you on a tour of Brinsop from years past and explain a little bit about our history...

Dating back to the early 1300s, the manor house has many stories to tell. Its rooms and halls are filled with period features and ornate ceilings, all resting upon medieval foundations.

Over the years, Brinsop has been home to noble families and even a few famous names. William Wordsworth, one of the founders of the Romantic movement, Madeleine Carroll, a 1940s film star, and Stephen Hawking, the renowned physicist, have all enjoyed the beauty of this estate.

Each wing of the house is named after a family who owned it at one point in time. In 2008, our current owners Pat and Martin saw the untapped potential in Brinsop and transformed it into the award-winning venue we know today.

Now, we’re proud to host weddings and events year-round, adding to those stories people will remember for years to come ❤️
