We had a lovely evening, providing freshly made Sushi as well as “make your own Sushi stand” for 300 people after work.
Sushi went down so quickly and the Sushi Making stand was non stop for 3hrs.

In my hometown, they use freshly squeezed Yuzu instead of vinegar for Sushi Rice. These vegetarian Sushi was flavourful and addictive.

They made fantabulous Scotch egg Sushi on mystery box challenge!
At corporate team building session, they are challenged to work in a team to create Sushi with odd stuff from the mystery box they receive.
This team had an unlucky box with a Scotch egg but turned it into a master chef looking gourmet Sushi😳
They came up with a great plan, worked together and created such a beautiful Sushi which made them accomplished✌️

It’s a friendly and creative class for anyone over 18’s and you will be amazed how easy to make authentic Sushi.

I started my little venture in January 2020 after I was made redundant and turned down a job opportunity in Tokyo.
After 6 months of soul searching…. Tomono Sushi Party was born.🐣
But soon after I had my first corporate team building booking come in (massive thank you to my dear friend Nikhita for being a bridge), we went into lock down.
Little did we know how long it would last….
It was a challenging period but I knew “Bringing people together, teaching my culture and providing the service that all generations can enjoy together” is my dream job and I didn’t want to give up.
I just sat down on my dark green sofa like a cold statue with a tragic story, my fabulous partner kept paying our mortgage and encouraged me to follow my dream… and then lockdown was finally over!
In February 2022, Ginger Jar Food which specialises in catering bespoke food for events (and also an expert of marketing and consultancy for hospitality industries) was brought in for strategy consultations and to create the new website.
That was the best investment I’ve ever made.
This is our 18 consecutive month with constant bookings and Tomono Sushi Party is now a team of 3.
Yesterday, Ginger Jar Food provided the traditional tea ceremony for Pokémon PR event and I was honoured to be part of it and I got to meet my childhood dream Pokémon.😍😍😍😍😍
My son was super proud (which made me so proud,too!!)
I was munching my box of takeaway dinner while I was waiting for the 205 bus after the event and thinking what a wonderful job I have, and to be able to share Japanese culture to people from all over the world.
Yes there’s loads more to do, things to improve… and I’m always worrying if I’ll have bookings this time next year….
But today I will leave my worries aside and I wanted to share my story.
