🏃In addition to the Ridge Off Roader 10k and half marathon races being held to raise funds for Bledlow Ridge School, we are also pleased to announce that we will once again be holding the 1km children’s fun runs!

🎫Sign up here by Thursday 16th May, numbers are limited for both races so please register early. It may be possible to enter on the day but only if spaces are still available and you need to sign up between 09:00 and 09:30 so adds an early start!

🌞This year we welcome all participants to celebrate May Ray Day - it marks a time to celebrate the brighter, warmer days as we move further into spring and edge closer to summer. Wear bright hats, face paint or colourful sunblock to show appreciation to the outdoors and sunlight (even better vibes if it's a bit rainy!).

ℹ️ Key information ℹ️

09:30 check-in to collect race number, held at the school playground.
Open to children in school years R to 6 inclusive:
Key Stage 2 will race first at 09:50, followed by Key Stage 1.
Flat course around the school grounds, both races will have a lead runner to follow.
Trophies awarded for the fastest two children in each race!
Entrance fee: £5
The races will conclude in time for the start of the 10k adult race (10:30) and every child taking part will receive a medal.

🥳All children participating must be accompanied by an adult - loudly cheering them on optional! We look forward to seeing you there. 🎉

What are you waiting for? Join us on the 19th May 😍

The focus of the event are two race distances – a 10k route and a half marathon route. Both routes will be excellently signposted and marshaled in key positions.

There will also be a 1k race aimed at local children or children of the runners. The school (cafe and BBQ will be based here) and village hall are open on the morning to ensure spectators can keep warm and dry.

MESSAGE FOR 2023 RIDGE OFF ROADERS

We had an incredible day on Sunday, with the sun shining, the village buzzing and the BBQ sizzling. There were outstanding performances on the trails and congratulations to all of our winners and those who completed the tough courses. We also thank all of our sponsors, partners and supporters.

Here is the Ridge off Roader 2023 organising committee (backed up by an ARMY of volunteers)

We had a great night The Boot Pub discussing ideas on how to make 2024 even better and what we absolutely must keep (excellent marshals and kids handing out medals are a must!)

Walked home and saw the milk van. Either we were out too late or milk van was out early…

Post-event email went out today with links to times, photos and ideas for other races. Let us know if you didn’t get it and we will send it on.

Much love to this amazing and talented team and if you want to join us next year let Isabel Cheshire know. We want to make it bigger, better and greener and need your ideas!

Roll up roll up! Last chance to sign up online and guarantee a space in either the 10k or HM races for this coming Sunday! Walkups may be available on the day. Final runner instructions will go out to runners after entries have closed at 8pm this evening, so keep an eye out for that mail over the next day or so. Kids can sign up for the 1k rave on the day so bring all your family! Our cafe is looking amazing with some great cakes, tea and coffee and there will be plenty of burgers and hotdogs on the day.
