We get asked many questions about how to care for and store your dress after your wedding day.
Here are our top tips:
🧺Get your dress professionally cleaned as soon as possible after your wedding day. We have recommended cleaners who will take the utmost care with your dress. If you’re heading straight off on your honeymoon, why not ask your maid of honour to take care of this task for you?
🎁Acid-free tissue paper and storage materials are a must. Stuff the bodice and sleeves of your dress to help it maintain its shape. We recommend flat storage in an acid-free archival box.
🙏Make regular checks on your stored dress and refold it periodically and always with clean hands.
Lace and satin, THE wedding dress materials. But how to choose which one is for you?
Here is a quick guide for each:
Lace ✨
• Timeless and romantic -
perfect for vintage- and boho-styled weddings
• Carries detail and patterns without the need for heavy embellishments
• A lighter and more breathable material, easier to wear in warmer conditions

Over the years we have seen every type of shoe and even the odd barefoot bride (perfect for a long dress at a beach wedding!) and we’ve heard many-a-tale of sore and swollen feet from poor choices😮💨
What should you look for?
⭐️ Always start with finding your
dress first, this will dictate your style and what options are then available to you.
⭐️ Prioritise comfort. Sounds boring to be sensible, but you’ll thank yourself for this. This is especially important if you have flat feet or high arches and this will change the placement of pressure on your feet throughout the day.
⭐️ Account for your venue. Will you be on grass, sand, flagstones? If you are in an older venue check their restrictions on heels. Some venues with old wooden flooring are keen to prevent damage to their buildings.
⭐️ Love to dance? Consider an evening shoe to change into that allows you to let your dance moves loose whilst keeping in the style of your dress.
⭐️ Always try shoes on first. Always wear them in for a few days ahead of your big day (we like to give them a gentle stretch with some fluffy socks for a couple of hours around the house a few days before an event!).
⭐️ Give yourself enough time to shop for shoes before your big day so you have the time to try on with your dress and really commit to your choice.
⭐️ Remember to bring them to your final dress fitting!

A practical yet still pretty choice, the elbow-length veil is a great option if you want to keep with tradition but find a long trailing veil too heavy or distracting.
You’ll know when you try on the veil options whether you enjoy the longer veil types that we’ve covered before. As it’s described, the elbow length veil should sit roughly at the tips of your elbows, or meet with your lower back.
Depending on whether or not you want a face covering veil for the start of your ceremony will determine the tiers and positioning of your veil. Let our consultants guide your through the options and considerations so you can make an informed choice that feels right for you.

The cathedral length veil is the longest traditional veil, typically 3m from comb to tip, so unless you have a very long train, this will be the longest trailing point of your bridal outfit.
