There’s been plenty of to share this week and we finish for the seasonal break with the Christmas Kitchen Disco tour, which helped round off the year in festive style, as the show visited cities and towns across the UK this past month.

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from
2023 has been a year of numerous highlights for us, working with some great clients new and old, on many fantastic projects, none of which could happen without the continued support of our Staff, Crew, Suppliers, Industry Colleagues and Friends - to all of them we owe a huge thanks for helping us make everything happen!
2024 is already shaping up to be an equally amazing year for the company on various fronts and we look forward to sharing the news and the show stories, with you all in course.

Rag’n’Bone Man // Summer 2023
Throwback to warmer months when was out on the road with the Rag’n’Bone Man crew.
Once again we had the pleasure of working for Production Manager George Doherty ( ), along with Lighting Designer Paul ‘Smiffy’ Smith from Ignition Creative ( ) - who joined the team at the start of this campaign - as they toured festivals and outdoor concerts around the UK and Europe, with a lighting floor package and control system.

Wu-Tang Clan and NAS // Europe and UK Tour 2023
Reflecting on what an amazing year 2023 has been, we’re conjuring up of this past June, when we supplied lighting and video to production company Touring Solutions Ltd and design house Mandylights for the European and UK leg of Wu-Tang Clan and NAS “New York State Of Mind” Tour.
Playing arena venues on this tour, Wu-Tang and NAS performance back to back throughout the show, ending in a collaboration segment – under the Lighting direction on the road of Harry Bilney, with Visuals by More Eyes.
had a great time working with the touring team of Paul and Tom from Touring Solutions, Stage Manager Matty Roberts and Tour Rigger Hilary Taylor Kench - and alongside suppliers TRUCKINGBY Brian Yeardley and Solotech UK Group.

Don Broco // The Birthday Party Tour
With touring season continuing well into December, is back out on the road with regular clients Don Broco as they tour the UK – supporting a design by Ben Inskip from which features a custom set, lit with a floor package of GLP - German Light Products JDC1, Hyperion and Titan Tubes along with four Minuit Une IVL Photon fixtures.

Rodrigo y Gabriela // European and UK Tour 2023
October and November saw delivering another touring project for our client, Production Manager Gareth Russell, as guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela toured around Europe and the UK in support of their latest album ‘In Between Thoughts...A New World’.
Working with Lighting Designer Brad Jones from to realise the creative produced for the USA tour earlier in the year, we supplied a punchy, pixel fixture biased rig floor based rig of GLP X4 bar20s, Nitro510C and Ayrton Eurus - all of which was prebuilt at Siyan HQ and packaged for easy build and de-rig on the road. The show was operated on the road by Brad himself, on an MA3 Light running an Mode3 showfile, built by his programmer Guy Knox-Holmes.

Cian Ducrot // Victory Tour
Big shoutout and thanks to Lighting Designer Luke Avery for bringing us onboard for this latest touring campaign with Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot.
The tour started in Europe, early November, currently now traveling around the UK before heading over to his homeland of Ireland in December.
It’s always a pleasure to work with Luke and help realise his clever creative requirements – this time was no exception with his design for Cian centring around a custom flown LED lit sign and shaped scenic elements onstage, all of which is complemented by a floor package of JDC1, Robe LEDbeam 150s, Aura XB and Ayrton Diablo.
We also supplied a beautifully designed lighting rig for the London Hammersmith show, the flown rig was a punchy composition of Martin Mac Ultra Performance and Acme Pixel Line IP, with 3x iForte + Robospot control systems, handling all the keylight.

An early Christmas present for in the form of the new Martin Mac ONE fixture, which we are proud to be one of the initial launch customers for.
This revolutionary and multifunctional Beam, Wash and Eye-Candy fixture was the clear frontrunner in our search for a new small LED fixture to complement our existing inventory.
Due to feature on the Martin Professional stand at LDI Show in Las Vegas next week, we’re expecting deliveries from our friends at Soundtech over the next month with the fixtures available to hire in early January.
The Mac ONE, along with the rest of our extensive lighting, rigging and video inventory is available to hire at Daily, Weekly and Touring rates.

New Order – 2023 Europe/UK Tour
We recently had the great pleasure of being asked by the New Order team to embark on another touring campaign, visiting arena’s around mainland Europe and the UK - supplying lighting, rigging, led screen, cameras and crew.
Working to lighting designer Andrew Liddle’s spec with Richard “Wez” Wearing overseeing all things production related - worked to realise the evolution of the established design, which we facilitated previously for Andrew and Wez at the O2 Arena in late 2021.
Whilst the core of the rig featuring Robe Megapointe and GLP X4 Bar20s remained, key changes included a full swap to pre-rigged trussing and the inclusion of Elation Proteus Excalibur fixtures, which Andrew had used on a recent USA touring campaign and found them to be an ideal ‘laser emulation’ fixture – a feature which especially came in handy, at certain venues where lasers were not permitted due to local regulations.
We always have a great time working with Wez and Andrew, along with the other regular New Order suppliers Wigwam Acoustics and ER Productions – we’re already looking forward to the next on-the-road collaborations!

Bebe Rexha – ‘Best F’n Night of My Life’ EU/UK Tour
We were delighted to once again be working with long time friend and client – lighting designer Will Smith, supplying lights for the EU/UK tour by global hitmaker Bebe Rexha, back in July.
Whilst the summer months traditionally see us mostly working in outdoors locations – this season especially featured a whole lot more than just festivals for with us supporting an array of touring projects.

RAYE - ‘One Night in London’ at The Royal Albert Hall
Late September saw supplying this special one-off production at London’s iconic/Historic Royal Albert Hall for our clients Mandylights. Having supplied Raye’s tour earlier this year, it was an honour to be invited back by designer Steve Bewley and PM Pete Clements from Moomba Productions, whom we worked with closely to realise the creative vision, in what is well known to be a venue that requires allowance for some unique considerations!
Preparation is always key.. but on this occasion that was truly the case with the lighting system of Ayrton Eurus and Acme PixelineIP pre-built and cabled ahead of time in prep, so as to ensure as smooth a load-in at the venue as possible whilst also giving Steve the maximum time with the rig for programming at Bedford’s Millenium Studios in the days prior to the show.
2023 continues to be a year of many highlights and this show was no exception!

Howard Jones – Celebrating 40 years
This is a truly special project for , supporting one of our most long standing and ‘original’ clients, the legendary singer, songwriter and keyboardist - Howard Jones, who is currently on tour for October to celebrate 40 years in the industry.
(many of those spent working with Siyan’s founder’s Nick Valdez pre-dating the company existence!)
Another much valued client, whom we have had the pleasure of facilitating numerous design for is LD Yenz Nyholm who has lit Howard’s tour over the more recent years and is once again at the helm for this project, touring a full production package visiting concert halls around the UK with touring lighting tech Al Johnstone handling things onstage.
We look forward to continuing to work with both Howard and Yenz (and Al too of course!), for many years to come.

Crystal Palace Park Concerts 2023
An exciting new project for – working with long standing clients Festival Republic, supplying lights and rigging to this series of festival style shows and outdoor concerts at London’s Crystal Palace Park, spanning in late June into July.
Visiting the site were the likes of Iggy Pop, Blondie and Generation S*x as part of Dog Day Afternoon, with events including Community Presents Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats, plus a headline show by the Lumineers, supported by Rag ‘n’ Bone Man – many of whom came with incoming production elements and touring operators, all of whom we gave our usual warm welcome to our

Woodsies Stage @ Glastonbury 2023
It was another tremendous weekend onsite at Glastonbury for - working on the (rebranded) Woodsies stage for creative Cate Carter, with the team welcoming a large number of visiting LDs into our Treehouse themed (decorated by Cate and Siyan’s Ben Inskip) and incoming floor packages onto the stage.
The collaborative nature of this project meant we had the unique opportunity to use the Woodsies stage as a platform to show off some of the latest lighting and control technology. These included our latest big spot investment of Martin Mac Ultra Performance’s - Ayrton’s flagship LED pixel fixture the Zonda 9 FX (fixtures supplied by our friends at Ambersphere) – and Robe Robospot systems complete with our new iForte heads.
At FOH, numerous MA3 consoles were deployed with the ‘house’ busk file running solidly in the latest version Mode3. Sat along side these was a SMODE real-time media server system which was used to give operators full use of the Zonda's pixel mapping capabilities, but in an easy to use way, in a festival environment.
Thanks to the whole Woodsies production family for making this yet another major highlight in our 2023 calendar!

We are delighted to announce that we have once again been successful in our application to the Government's Cultural Recovery Fund for a grant that will support our operations over the next three months. This funding will allow us to continue to support the jobs of our team and to continue working on a wide variety of virtual, live streamed and socially distanced events.
It's been a year like no other for #TeamSiyan, but we've put together a short video with just some of our highlights from the past twelve months. A huge thank you to our clients, suppliers, staff and to Arts Council England, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and HM Treasury for helping us to keep the show on the road this year. We're proud to still be #HereForCulture and are looking to the future with renewed optimism!
This year has been the most challenging in our company’s history, not just for us but for our freelancers, our clients, other rental companies and everyone else in the live events sector.
On what would normally be our busiest weekend of the year - with Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and many more - our MD Mark Baruch spoke last night to BBC Radio 5 live about the challenges this summer poses to the live events industry.
