Hi everyone
It’s that time of year again, when Mariah Carey, Slade and Wizzard get dragged out of the Christmas Floor Filler section in the record collection. But perhaps this year, more poignant will be Fairytale of New York, with both Shane McGowan and Kirsty McColl passed.

Work commitments and nurturing our two beautiful children has meant that ABCSOUNDS reduced the number of events but it gives us both great pleasure to say - ABCSOUNDS is back and open for bookings from January 2024 and beyond.

If you are booking a party or perhaps considering surprising that special someone over Christmas and New Year - talk to us - we will work with you to ensure your celebration is a complete success.

Hi everyone

With immediate effect, ABCSOUNDS will be moving to cashless transactions and the following terms and conditions will come into force.

All bookings will now require a deposit of £25.00 which will secure the date and the services of ABCSOUNDS. The deposit, in all cases will be non refundable, except where the booking is cancelled by ourselves.

The remaining balance will need to be paid no later than 14 days before the date of the event. Should the balance be outstanding after this deadline, ABCSOUNDS reserves the right to cancel the booking and will refund any deposit paid.

Please note that ABCSOUNDS does not hold the relevant licences required to hold client’s money so cannot offer payment plans or installments.

We are currently in the process of having new Terms & Conditions drawn up along with a formal contract so please look out for further updates.

Our DJ Burkey and the team continue to work hard under what has been many challenges over the past Covid times but would like to thank you for your continued support as the business looks forward to future growth.

It’s been a very difficult time for many many people and we truly hope that you are keeping safe and well.

Here at ABCSOUNDS both Burkey and Becky as key workers have been part of the effort made by thousands of people to support the effort to fight this awful virus.

As we all know, the entertainment and hospitality industry has been hit massively by this pandemic but there is a small light appearing at the end of the tunnel.

We still need to fight and we certainly support the efforts being made to further expand the fantastic efforts to vaccinate everyone as quickly as possible.

Our calendars are open for bookings for 2021 and beyond.

Calling all couples who, as a result of Covid 19, have had to make the heartbreaking decision to rearrange their engagement or wedding event.

We at ABCSOUNDS have followed government guidelines to the letter and as restrictions are being lifted - now is the time to talk to us about the services we provide.

We are a small family business where we consider the client is at the heart of what we do. We work hard to ensure your party will create the lasting happy memories you want to push away the cloud of this virus.

We also understand that things will be subject to change for many months to come so we have taken the decision to keep our 2020 prices into the coming months and into 2021 and will keep our deposit to zero until the situation stabilises.

Whilst not actively providing music and services to our clients we remain busy keeping our equipment in top condition and ensuring we remain compliant with regulations needed for your safety and peace of mind.

Our equipment if PAT tested and we have £5 million Public Liability insurance.

On Easter Sunday 2018 Georgy; aged just 8 years old fell over in a friend’s back garden and after taking him to A and E we were given the devastating news that he had a highly malignant and very rare bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma.

The following 12 months passed in a whirlwind of hospital stays where he had high dose aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He was unable to eat and lost a lot of weight. As a result of this treatment, the majority of his right arm was taken away and replaced with a titanium prosthesis. Georgy went into remission in March 2019 and life started to become normal (ish) again! Georgy went back to school and we started to see our gorgeous boy become the funny and happy person that he’s always been.

In April this year, we were dealt the devastating blow that the cancer had returned but this time in his left sinus, just under his eye socket and in the back of his nose. Scans showed that this horrible and aggressive cancer had already destroyed some of his cheekbone and was growing into the base of his skull. Georgy was rushed back into hospital to start preparations for his treatment whilst we waited to hear if he would have a stroke or lose his eyesight immediately. Luckily, our brave boy came out as strong as he went in. Georgy has now had four rounds of chemotherapy and is currently having radiotherapy but after researching all avenues, we know that his rare and specific condition cannot be treated with targeted drugs for Georgy on the NHS at this present time, despite the amazing work of his medical team.

Patients with relapsed Ewing’s have a very poor prognosis and as his parents, we are determined to try and raise as much as we can so our gorgeous boy can live a carefree life, something he has not had for three years now. After lengthy discussions with a stem cell transplant hospital in a top medical treatment centre in Asia, we are thrilled that they are willing to accept Georgy! The transplant will involve removing the faulty mother cell and harvesting new purified cells from a donated umbilical cord into his body to stop the cancer from returning, these procedures have very high success rates. Throughout all of Georgy’s treatment we have been absolutely amazed with our NHS, he wouldn’t be here now without them but the cost of this treatment is going to be around the region of £240,000 which simply cannot be funded by our NHS and we really do understand this. Georgy has always taken his illness in his stride, he is a well-mannered and courageous young man and has the best sense of humour ever! When we told him about the possibility of having this procedure his reply was “will I still have my memory?”!

Georgy is due to finish his sixth and final round of chemo by the beginning of September which means we would have to start this procedure straight after that to ensure the cancer doesn’t return straight away, which unfortunately gives us very little time to raise this amount. We are setting this up with the hope that we can raise some of this amount to help save our sons life. It is our only realistic option and for the first time in a long time we can be positive and see some sort of future. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and we will regularly update on here with medical bills and photos when everything is finalised. Dear All,

It’s been some time since we have posted our page. It’s been a difficult time for many and a sad time for too too many.

We are thankful that as key workers we have both remained safe and well and blessed that where we have been touched by the pandemic, the people concerned have recovered.

Many of our clients will have been affected in many ways - but there seems to be a light shining in the distance in the tunnel and venues are taking bookings again.

We have therefore taken the decision to open our calendars for enquiries but would remind all prospective clients that we will always be led by Government guidelines.

If you have rearranged your party or looking to book for later this year and 2021, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We have missed our clients as we consider you all friends. We can never have enough friends so why not become part of the ABCSOUNDS family.
