For the last few days I was leading a photography trip for NaturesLens to Lake Kerkini in Greece. Here are a few shots of the Dalmatian Pelicans catching fish being thrown. They are using their Gular Pouch to catch fish in the air. (Gular Pouch is the orange sac beneath their beak). The Pelicans have a unique adaption of a flexible lower mandible to which the Gular pouch is attached to. The Gular pouch can stretch open into a net shape which helps them to catch fish. The pouch is capable of stretching and holding 3 gallons of water. The Pelicans are incredibly skilled at grabbing the fish from the air and usually get on target most of the time. As I work full time in IT and have no intention of stopping. I have decided after over 11 years doing Weddings on the side, I am stopping the wedding photography. I will be changing direction and will be concentrating on training workshops which I can run around my day job. Don't panic if you have a wedding booked with me next year, I will still be honouring this.
I have now changed my website (removed weddings and added in workshops.)
