I’m a self-taught photographer. No, I wasn't handed a camera by my grandad and given pearls of wisdom on how to ensure a successful career in photography, nor had I even stepped foot in a darkroom until my third year of university! My journey to wher

e I am now simply doesn't have the wonderful, idyllic beginning that so many others seem to have. My story is that I left school with no gear and absolutely no idea on what I wanted to do, and thought I’d try my hand at a Photography degree. Well, talk about chucking yourself in at the deep end! Turns out that everyone else on the course had done their GCSE and A-Level Photography first. I didn't even own a camera! Anyway, three years and a LOT of hard work later, I’d managed to catch up with all the far more experienced people on my course, and - still to my own disbelief - I came out with a 2:1. Not bad for someone who "didn't know how to take a photo" eh?!

Almost ten years since then and this is me. I am blessed with natural creativity, and I have been brought up to understand the reward of hard graft and open-mindedness. It's been a seriously busy ten years and far from easy. I've loved watching my style define itself before my eyes, and I don't think I've ever felt more passionate about what I do than right now!

This one feels like it's been in the diary FOREVER! 💜

And it was so good to finally bring it to life on Saturday. It was my first trip to photograph a wedding at the beautiful Stockwith Mill, which immediately felt like home. I find that really important as a photographer to feel comfortable in my environment, it definitely brings out the best in me. Give me a small, cosy and rustic (but aesthetically pleasing!) venue any day over a big scary posh one!

This day was a day of rain on, rain off, sun in, sun out. Football quarter finals, a surprisingly emotional best man and lots of baby Guinness!

The feeling of privilege to photograph a couple's baby was about as high as it gets on Saturday morning.

Everyone, meet the beautiful and long-awaited Delilah Iris Deacon. All that needs to be said is that Iris means "rainbow" which could not be more perfect, much like the little lady herself.

I spent the most lovely few hours with Paul and Lucy in their gorgeous home, photographing their gorgeous baby girl. What a job!

It's wedding season!

Feeling excited to get back to it in 2024. I kicked off the season a few weeks ago with Michael and Natalie and it was just lovely. I really am so lucky to be able to call this work!

It's been a busy night of prepping for this weekend's wedding which has been a long time in the diary. Crazy how time flies!

Hi everyone....remember me?!

I've been very very quiet on my socials for a while now since hashtag hackgate (still not over it 😫)

Just wanted to share some of what I've been up to in the background! It's actually been a busy few months and my new MacBook has been a saving grace to improve my work speed (and improve my work/life balance!)

Here's a few shots of a dreamy newborn at home shoot I did a few months ago. Elkie and her family invite me in to their home just a few weeks after baby George arrived to capture some lovely moments between them all. It's been a while since I last did one of these and it was so nice to do something different for a change!

Looking forward to shooting a couple more of these throughout the year 💜

Hi Everyone!

Apologies for the radio silence and for the delay in getting back to everyone's messages. Sadly last weekend, some absolute turds decided to hack in to my personal Facebook, delete my FotoHoof page, hack in to my work page AND then disable my account...permanently.

Facebook, as expected, have been about as much use as a chocolate fire guard and to say I'm disgruntled is an understatement. I've lost messages, memories of my babies, my Dad an obviously my hilarious posts from over the years. It's made me really, really sad.

Anyway, life does indeed go on without Facebook...except when it's a really important part of your marketing model!

The purpose of this post was to make you all aware that I haven't unfriended or blocked you, and if you need me, for now, please email me!

⭐️ Wedding Day Idea ⭐️

How many times have people told you that your wedding day flies by so quickly? We know you will want to be able to relive as much of your day as possible once it is all over (maybe over a cocktail whilst lying on a beach on your honeymoon! 😎🍹), so we think disposable cameras are a great idea!
Leaving these dotted around the venue - maybe on each of the tables during the wedding breakfast or by the guest book - will encourage your guests to capture as much of the day as possible and amazing memories for you to look back on for the rest of your lives together ❤️

These two deserve their own post! 💙💙

My boys. Joel and Saul. Chops and Diddy.

And the reason why I work as much as I do. Every time I pack my camera bags and head off out to work, I leave these guys behind for the day but they, along with their Daddy are the reason I go. Not only to provide for them, but to show them that to get what you want in this world, you’ve gotta work for it.

I was always in awe of my own parents and how hard they worked. Not only by going to work but the work that they put in for us as their kids. Everything they had was grafted for, and everything I have has been grafted for. One day, they’ll be out grafting and reaping the rewards too (if they know what’s good for them anyway 😂)

I took these photos back in October, when I was really in the thick of the editing backlog. I only edited them a week before Christmas and as soon as I saw them, it made everything worth it. I’ll treasure these shots of my gorgeous boys forever 🖤
