Day 12 of advent celebrations and I want to share this photo from a shoot earlier this year with Jonathan Oldhams and the team at Webstraxt.

Digital agencies can be unsung heroes, working away in the background, creating and supporting the spaces that enable others to showcase their business, and make sales. They are people so many of us rely on, but often we see less.

Although there were lots of photos of Jonathan and the team more directly in front of my camera, I love this one of him through his office window, showing him encapsulated by technology, quietly working in the background.

I have to say another reason I enjoy working with Webstraxt is it an opportunity to have a good catch up with Jonathan and chat about life, and importantly music. Usually impacting the music I drive home to.

So I’m celebrating Jonathan, and the digital geniuses that we rely on in our online space.

So often in life, and especially in business we just get to see the surface veneer that people want to present to us, but that is not the case for today’s advent post.

Today I want celebrate someone I have got to know pretty well and who I have huge liking, trust and respect for.

I’m a client of hers and have benefitted from coaching and various groups, both business related and more spiritual. And she is a client of mine, I’ve photographed her speaking and for brand shoots.

And she has become a firm friend. I have laughed with her and Asha ALOT (and she has the video evidence), she’s someone who checks in to make sure I’m ok, and our IG messaging is a steady stream of shared memes and reels.

But why do I want to champion her? Well the list is long, and frankly my menopausal brain is bound to forget some of the reasons, however they include…

How authentic she is - with Taz you see behind the veil, how she really is and what going on for her. If you are connected already you’ll know her current posts show how poorly she’s felt recently. She will share what’s going on with her, how she’s facing challenges and the wisdom she has gained from life.

How kind and supportive she is, yet how she is able to challenge me in a way that’s needed. Our true allies don’t just pay lip service, but also allow us to hear what we need to. Taz has helped me learn so much about myself, to achieve things I never expected, and to feel fully supported throughout.

She’s a true ally, champions others, cares for the values and the people that matter to her, has a wealth of wisdom to share and knows how to cut through the crap to get to the crux of the matter.

I’m very grateful to have her as a coach, a client, and especially a friend.

Today I want to celebrate Lisa Newport a woman with gumption who encapsulates style AND substance.

I've got to know Lisa over the past few years, working with her and enjoying her friendship, and I love how she juxtaposes her straight talking, no-nonsense approach with a love of sequins, feathers and frippery. There is nothing bland about Lisa and she embraces living life and loving who we are, whether we are dressing for dopamine or comfydence.

She's marking business birthdays and FAB network anniversaries at the moment, and I want to celebrate her, because she is fabulous indeed.

And onto my Day 9 advent celebration who is Adam Fenton.

I've known and worked with Adam over the last 8 years as I've photographed events for the Chartered Institution of Railway Operators (and coached Apprentices) and was delighted to see Adam recently appointed to Chief Operating Officer.

I've seen how his diligent and friendly approach has helped grow the brilliant academic programmes that CIRO offer, and know what a pleasure it is to work alongside him. A consummate professional, he is well deserving of his new position and will continue to be a huge asset to the wonderful CIRO team.

Huge congratulations Adam.

My Day 8 celebration, is someone that I've photographed many, many times, but usually just phone selfies when we are spending time together. After all he is my little brother.

However in this instance I photographed Matt Carter speaking at Helen Dunne's excellent CorpComms Summit at London Stock Exchange, and it was great to see him sharing insights on AI from Message House BPI research.

Does your work ever involve family members?

Not being very well over the weekend means I'm playing catch up today with my advent celebrations.

Starting with my selection for Day 7 which was Saturday and the glorious Kim Antrobus, who I absolutely adore.

Kim has absolutely one of the biggest hearts, and an incredible voice. Funny, kind, smart, she is indeed a singer with sass, and this year I was fortunate when a visit to stay with her coincided with her performing in Southport. But that is not the only string to her bow as a woman of many skills.

If ever there is someone who doesn't fully appreciate just how brilliant they are it is Kim, so it was a no-brainer for me to have her as part of my advent celebrations.

Day 6 already of my advent celebrations and today I'm giving a big shout out for .

This year I had the pleasure of photographing Nic's first IMPACT Live event at the glorious Sandown racecourse where she curated a wealth of insightful speakers and journalists. Definitely an impactful event with so many PR opportunities. Looking forward to next year's event which tickets are currently selling fast for.

This photo was taken during Nic's retreat in London where her Masterminders left the lux surroundings with new vision, direction and full hearts.

As it is Grief Awareness week I wanted the posts for yesterday and today to celebrate two wonderful women, both of whom work closely to support people who have lost loved ones, albeit with a slightly differing focus.

I'm not sure if they actually know each other, but I count myself fortunate to have both in my life, and have spent time with Ilze Lee and Dipti Solanki this year, as I love being in their company. They both have the kindness, wisdom and nurturing energy that is perfect for their work, alongside enquiring minds, sharp humour and gentle compassion.

And both have very exciting this happening for them at the minute!

I needed stealth tactics to capture this photo of Ilze out in the glorious Bedfordshire countryside, as typically she is fairly adept at avoiding being in front of a camera.
And Dipti is shown here with the lovely Martha-May Corton, exhibiting at Nicola J Rowley's event Impact Live.

If you, or someone close to you is struggling with grief I wholeheartedly recommend you make contact with these brilliant women. Actually I totally suggest connecting with them regardless.

Day 3 and today I want to celebrate Kerry and Lins of

I regularly get to catch up with these two at events, and not only is it always lovely to see them and have a hug, it’s a super sweet treat to enjoy the gorgeous chocolate and candies they make.

As someone with half a century of sampling chocolate under my (ever-tightening) belt, trust me their products are delicious!!!

Perfect for gifts… Christmas is coming and all that.

Day 2 of my advent celebrations is another fabulous woman. The wonderful Gemma Roberts, who kindly accepted me as a surrogate sister.
I can’t think of a better ally than Gemma, and her work is devoted to doing exactly that. Helping people at a time they need it most.
Huge heart, dry wit, blummin’ lovely. And today is her birthday. Happy birthday Gem xx

Last year one of my favourite parts of the build up to Christmas was celebrating some of the fabulous people that I’d photographed. And I’m doing it again this year.

Ok, so it’s almost 10.30pm on December 2nd, a day late starting and maybe not the ideal time but what hell.

Here’s my Day 1 for yesterday who is the glorious Sian Morgan-Owen - Digital Operations Agency. Now Sian isn’t one to shout about just how brilliant she is, so you might be forgiven for not knowing, but she is incredible. Super helpful and kind, but able to give the advice you NEED to hear, not just what you want to. She makes things happen and has got some brilliant results for her clients.

Today I had the privilege of being able to pay my respects to my friend Penny Holland.
I’ve known Penny over the past few decades through our local theatre company, acting alongside and directing. And laughing with her a lot.

This pint-sized doyenne had a with withering glance that Dame Maggie would have envied, and was the supreme female role model. Incredibly skilled and talented in many ways, fiercely independent, but also fun and game for a laugh, and she was always ready to listen and help others.

With Penny as the matriarch it’s little wonder that her family are warm and loving, similarly ridiculously musical and creative. It was a privilege to be there and witness them pay tribute in the most beautiful, and fitting service. From the heartfelt eulogy to the recital of Shakespeare’s Seven Ages of Man, to the most sublime rendition of the Coventry Carol (not many families can just jump up and do that unrehearsed!), it felt an honour to be there.

And of course the sugar coating in the bittersweetness of funerals, is getting to catch up and reminisce with old friends. Hear the anecdotes and stories, and hug people you haven’t seen in far too long.

But for me Penny will always live in my heart as the Mrs White in my Cluedo inspired collection.

Sleep well Penny x

Big love to Nicola Peake today who pulled off something pretty incredible this weekend. This woman has a big heart and a ton of resilience.
She set herself a big old scary hairy challenge, put in the graft and brought a wealth of amazing speakers, sparkle and business zingers to the big top.

You have just a few minutes I believe to grab your discounted ticket for next year before the price goes up. Which step up to the next level. Bigger (for sure), warmer (very likely), with pina coladas on the drinks list (quite possibly). Better though? Hmm she'll have her work cut out as the last couple of days were awesome, but I'm sure when she's had a little sleep she'll be up for the challenge.

Today’s 100 happy days post is celebrating my sister-in-law Erica who was on the One Show tonight.
Sadly Erica lost her sister to cancer 3 years ago. At the time, Rosalind, who was skilled with her loom, was part way through some weaving projects for gifts for her family.
If you saw the show (I’ll add a link in the comments), you’ll have seen that there is a fabulous organisation called Loose Ends Project which completes unfinished craft work left behind.
While this doesn’t take away the loss of a loved one, I think it gives such a precious parting gift to remember them by.
Well done Erica, I know it was emotional, and can’t have been easy, but I’m so pleased to see you receive the completed rug x

It’s been a funny time and as a result my posts slipped.
But I’m back and here is yesterday’s.
Getting to see my beautiful friend marry her beau in just a joyful (and spectacular) day. Too busy dancing to post this last night!
Love wins. She is a swan after all.

This weekend I had a bit of needed R&R and decided against posting photos of the book I was reading accompanied by toast and peanut butter (this time), although both of which brought me happiness.

Today I’m back on it and very grateful tonight to see a message from my Dad in our family WhatsApp chat.

We’ve all been on tenterhooks today as (after 2 false starts) he finally had some long and much needed surgery.

So seeing this message, knowing he’s awake and has got through it, made my day very happy. ❤️

(And I can only think my nephew was crying tears of joy 😂)

As always, very grateful to our NHS.
