Ska N Mash DJ specialising in ska, reggae, 2-tone, motown, soul, mod, indie, punk. Full DJ set up, PAT & PLI. DJ Ska N Mash is a selector based in the Essex area.

Supporting bands, as sole DJ and promoting events. The range of music is strongly based on retro sounds including traditional reggae and ska, notably Trojan, Island, Greensleeves, Studio One, Tighten Up labels. This is coupled with a keen interest in the 2-tone scene as well as 3rd wave productions. Such a scene brings in plenty of other influences including dubwise, motown, northern soul, mod, in

die & punk. As a dj I'm always on the lookout for new material, covers and remixes and quite often I'm offered dj exclusives which are only available in digital form. My other love are the mash-up releases and themed nights which might encompass rock, 70s/80s/90s disco, St Patricks, Burns, St Georges, Halloween, Christmas etc. My other love are themed nights which might encompass rock, 70s/80s/90s disco, St Patricks, Burns, St Georges, Halloween, Christmas etc. I've had the privilege to provide DJ support to many acts, including UB40, The Dualers, ASWAD, The Slackers, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Selecter, Neville Staple, Gentleman's Dub Club, Maxi Priest, Soul II Soul, Sister Sledge, Level 42, Human League, Status Quo, Ocean Colour Scene, Scouting For Girls, Stiff Little Fingers and alongside David Rodigan. I DJ throughout Essex and beyond and have DJ'd at Wembley Arena and many large festivals in Great Yarmouth, Cambridge, Folkestone, Margate, Norwich, Dumfries, and events in Cork, Benidorm, Malta, Mexico and Australia. I DJ digitally, with CDs and with vinyl according to the requirements of the event.

On Friday I take my first visit to Tyrells Hall in Grays for a FREE night of ska and reggae. Tyrrells Hall offers social club priced drinks, large dance floor and a great friendly atmosphere. Come and join the party! Let's get skanking! FREE entry, tell your friends to tell their friends.
On Saturday it's time for the Thames SKA Party Cruise. It's a SOLD OUT event (we have another in August) and we have a new boat - The Golden Flame - with a bar on both floors. Meeting for warm up drinkies at "The Bar at Temple" boat (opposite Temple tube) which is where our "Golden Flame" boat will also be moored.

What a treat for Sunday. The amazingly talented Georgia Crandon gave us a wonderful performance at The Crown Inn (Romford Roneo Corner).
Starting with plenty of soul and reggae vinyl from myself and Chris Redman warming up the audience. Our first live set came from The Honkus Rompus from Colchester who treated us to some wonderful covers given their energetic and somewhat deranged treatment - so entertaining to hear Queens of the Stoneage given a ska treatment, Miserlou, Mirror in the Bathroom, Cool For Cats and plenty more. Brilliant set!
Once Georgia hit the stage everyone was telling me how mad, different, fun this Sunday was, Georgia brought back the sanity, stirred us into a whirl and stole our hearts with her original material, closing with a few party covers.
This was a one-off gig that we hope to take elsewhere, ticketed obviously, but if you missed Sunday make sure you don’t miss out again. 🙂 both deserve your support.
A huge thanks to Chris, Georgia, Ivor and Honkus Rompus for providing a great day of entertainment, a massive thanks to all at the Crown Inn for hosting and serving and of course to all those who supported.

2 gigs this weekend starting on Friday at the The Chadwell Arms for some ska, reggae, dancehall, soul, mod, Motown and punk.
And on Saturday we have the return of Section 8 Band at the The Admiral Vernon, Dagenham with their selection of ska and reggae. They’ve taken a number of songs of various genres and ska’s them up, as well as some classic P45 originals.
Both gigs FREE entry, the Vernon is a cash only bar.
