I’m a spoon girl… love a good spoon as much as I love a good handbag or pair of shoes however as with all loved items they only keep giving pleasure if you look after them. Iv only recently discovered this fabulous small independent local company and bought a few bits from them a feasting board & a couple of bowls all exquisitely made. They also make & sell these little pots of ‘board butter’ the perfect moisturiser for your special wooden spoons & other food woods.

What a cracking end to the year,the result might not have been what we would have liked however we had a bumper crowd fed by our great pitch side team(Anya Mark & Paul)led by the indomitable Jeanette. Up at the clubhouse Beth,Kirsty,Lisa & Su fed all our volunteers refs & press with a pack up,served a two course lunch to 50 then a hot meal to 60+players post match. You are all such a great team you work hard & do it with a smile on your face it makes working a pleasure never a chore and I can’t thank you enough. MarkWilson.

Briefs are often simple two or three word instructions however with this cake Vivs granddaughter wanted everything for her gorgeous Nonna- lemony lemon cake, vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream,heart shaped, particular wording including name & age,flowers, fruit and a red broken boarder at the bottom. It was a bit of a challenge to get it all on but we managed 😊.

Kayleigh & Connor married in Vegas a couple of weeks ago then we all brought Vegas to Ampthill( )The family dressed the clubhouse to look like a Vegas nightclub & their guests all threw themselves into the theme, so many sequins they all looked amazing. The whole night was a fabulous celebration for a fabulous couple 😁.

So good to welcome to our club today. A full house with two fully booked pre match meals running simultaneously & super busy with the huge crowd enjoying our pitch side food including support from our brilliant local suppliers thank you Deacons Butchers, we couldn’t do this without your highly appreciated support. We’re celebrating Halloween all week from today at so for all of half term we will have a selection of our bakes with a spooky twist. First off we have our spiced pumpkin muffins we’ve added a little fondant pumpkin, we have spiced chilli double chocolate brownies with a ‘bloody chilli’ icing & an edible spider and a gluten free triple chocolate spider(these are made from rice paper) brownie. When these are gone we will have a new delivery of something different! 👻 🦇 🕷️

Opening proceedings for our Autumn24 weekend of music is the hugely talented pianist, Gabrielė Sutkutė. Gabrielė is the winner of some twenty international competitions and has performed in some of the UK’s finest concert halls. We are thrilled to have her perform for us. The concert on Friday 25th October at 8pm in Ampthill’s Methodist Church, is followed by Wooden Hill Coffee Roasters, Petit Fours courtesy of Traceyhollywell, and organic hot chocolate. We run a warm space hub at the rugby club every Wednesday morning from 10am -2 pm there’s always someone to chat to and for £1 you can have a hot drink & a piece of homemade cake then from noon we have homemade soup & a roll. We have daily newspapers and magazines plus a book swap. Yes it’s warm but it’s also an opportunity to meet others or just find a quiet corner for a bit of peace & relaxation. Everyone is welcome.

Love it when I get to make a cake for a special someone in my life. Been friends for years with our eldest daughter Alex godfather John & we we’re lucky enough to be invited to help celebrate his 90th birthday, he’s a kind,funny, generous gentleman & we all feel lucky to have him in our lives. It was a really special day with fabulous food & venue provided & gorgeous sounds from . Thank Jenny & John for sharing such a wonderful day with us, it’s days like these we carry with us 😊
