Tom’s brought us an excellent mix, which showcases his sound and some of his musical influences. It begins with Funk & Funky House then smoothly progresses into that classic 90’s House sound. This one isn’t to he missed.

Bio

Tom Junior is a House Music Producer, DJ & Groove Soul Records label boss
based in the Midlands. His roots are grounded in growing up listening to Soul,
Funk & Disco and later, the mid 90’s US Garage House sound, all of which you
can hear in his productions. He has played at Ministry of Sound London The
Egg, various festivals and other residencies around The Midlands. Tom’
Juniors solo releases have enjoyed several Beatport Top 20s and support
from some of the biggest DJs in the world, including Todd Terry, Jamie Jones,
and Sam Divine, who played Tom Junior’s previous single ‘All The Blues’

Hz Mixtape 007 El Chetcuti

We’re back after a short break. This week we have a mix from a DJ/Producer who’s everywhere in the Newcastle Techno scene.

Ellen Chetcuti is a DJ / music producer from the North East who is consistently driven and inspired by the techno scene.

She has always had a deep love for all techno genres, but quickly became infatuated with the harder-styled techno sounds.

In 2022, Ellen will continue to explore and experiment with new genres of music, in preparation for the exciting gigs she has confirmed in the next few months.

Off the back of recent success El’s played at The Lofts Tokyo Newcastle World Headquarters Distrikt Bar Leeds to name a few.

Her mix today begins Melodic with lots of groove, progressing into Driving & Acid Techno. This one goes hard from start to finish.

Hz Mixtape 006 KMAND

Back again with the next mix from our series. This week we’re featuring this Scottish DJ/Producer trio, who’ve brought us an excellent House & Tech House mix. If you aren’t already familiar with the lads, you can check their bio below.

Bio

KMAND is the collaboration between three friends with a passion for feel good house music.

Having played several venues in their home town of Aberdeen, Scotland and further afield, the KMAND lads felt that the next logical step was to venture into production and make their mark on the scene that they grew up immersed in.

KMAND emerged in the live stream movement through the difficulties of the UK lockdown, holding down residencies on Elev8 Radio and No Way FM and going onto play at Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’s “Set For Love” virtual festival and the Works Experience Virtual Festival.

The turn of 2021 saw KMAND push forward with their production goals release their much anticipated remixes of Ninetoes – Finder and ATFC & Gene Farris – Spirit of House. The latter quickly burst into the Hypeddit Charts gaining a number 11 position in the Tech House Charts.

KMAND released their debut single entitled “Higher” on 9th October 2021 on Shapeshift Records. The track shot into the charts and gained a spot in Beatport’s Overall Top 100 and Tech House Top 20 Charts as well as climbing up to #3 in the Hype Chart. “Higher” continues to get exposure and has been played on the likes of Select FM.

In December 2021, KMAND take over Data Transmission for a monthly radio show to show case their DJ skills and song selection alongside highlighting upcoming artists that deserve the radio plays!

Bio

Emma’s a North East based DJ living in Billingham (Teesside). She wanted to DJ from an early age and started pursuing it in 2019. Her music style varies but is always soulful, groovy, melodic and feel good.

Since forming her company Unique Beats, Emma became a monthly resident on Loud Creative Radio. Through her hard work and dedication, she’s now a resident for Newcastle super club The Lofts and sister bar The Hustle

She’s performed in other local venues, such as Out Out in Hartlepool.

Emmas’s going from strength to strength as a DJ and you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of her in the future. One of her main goals, is to get booked on a large festival lineup, which is very achievable when you hear her skills.

Bio

Harls (Harley) is a 25 year old DJ from Redcar, North Yorkshire.

Harls has played at venues across the north of the uk. Spinning his tunes in Sunderland, Darlington, Lincoln, and of course his home town of Redcar. Harley has already supported well respected artists such as Jacky and Peverell. Through his hard work and musical knowledge, he’s built great following in the North East.

During lockdown he performed on various livestreams, such as event brands Psych & Deep In Sound . Since then he’s played regularly for Southall Presents & has also been a radio resident for Unite

Harls has recently been devoting a lot of his time to production and hopes to have tracks released in the near future. We’re sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of this lad in 2022 & beyond. Whether that be behind a DJ booth, or releasing music.

Hertz North East Mixtape 002 Ryan Taft

I’m buzzing with all of the support so far, and it’s now it’s time for the next mix from our series.

Ryan’s created a club style Mix full of Tech & Minimal Grooves. He’s featured tracks from himself and his label, and other artists in the scene. If you aren’t already familiar with Him, you find out more below.

Design Records label owner, Ryan Taft is a dedicated DJ and Producer from Liverpool. His goal is for the label to only release music he truly believes in regardless of an artist’s status in the music industry.
Ryan’s own sound is groovy and energetic. His music has earned multiple impressive chart positions including his most recent EP's "Let It Roll" & "Too Funky" that reached the Beatport Minimal / Deep Tech & Tech House top 10.
Ryan credits the scene in Ibiza as the launch pad for his House Music journey. Over multiple stints in Ibiza, Taft has gained the respect from friends and idols alike, bringing him gigs on and off the island alongside some of the top artists in the industry.
With some huge new tracks forthcoming from both DESIGN_RECORDS, and Ryan himself, the future is certainly looking bright.
