Yesterday, 9th October, marked the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

This is something which is very close to the hearts of us on the ARTventurers Team. Some of us have lost precious little ones ourselves. Some of us have close family members who have. We also know that there are many of our ARTventurers families who have experienced loss and some of you have shared your stories with us.

Sadly, this year I became part of the 1 in 4, and, like many others I’m sure, it’s a statistic I never saw myself included in.

This week provides a really important opportunity for people to talk openly about the subject of, and raise awareness of, baby loss - as well as giving bereaved parents, family members and friends the chance to commemorate the all-too-brief lives of their babies.

We know it’s something that you will never get over, but talking really can help. I’ll listen if you need me to. I’ve been there. I am there. Together let’s break the silence on baby loss.

It's a little known (and scary!) fact that anyone can set up a children or baby activity class WITHOUT ANY insurance, DBS, safeguarding and proper policies and procedures in place...let alone really knowing what they are doing during the sessions!

At ARTventurers, we are committed to children's learning and development through art and creative play and the provision of high quality and safe children's activities in ALL areas of our industry. That's why, for us, it was SO important to join the CAA and go through their full GOLD accreditation process!

🏆 Gold Fully Accredited 🏆 status means that our ARTventurers programme, processes and procedures have all been independently verified as having met or exceeded the CAA Code of Practice, giving our ARTventurers grown-ups absolute confidence in the activities and sessions that we provide for little artists up and down the country

👩🏼‍🏫 I’m a qualified Primary and Early Years teacher.

👧🏼 I have a 2 year old daughter called Roseanne!

🎨 I’m an ARTventurers customer! We go to ARTventurers Halifax and Bradford West classes!

🐈‍⬛ We have two cats - Umbria and Florence.

🎶 I love concerts and musicals - McFly, Scouting for Girls and Olly Murs are my favourites live!

💐 I love being crafty. If I can DIY something I will. I put together all our wedding decor, designed the stationery, made the bouquets and even adjusted the bridesmaid dresses! 👗
