We so enjoyed running an Eat the Rainbow session with 1st Hungerford Beavers this week! They enjoyed it too and got to taste a wide variety of fruit and veg, pedal their own drink on our smoothie bike, decorate a veggy oatcake face and make their own rainbow pasta salad.

We love cooking with fresh leeks during the winter as they are so tasty, can be substituted for onions and contain many flavonoid antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

If you're growing them at home did you know you can cut the stalk, leave the roots and the leaves will re-grow for a second crop? You just need to protect the newly cut stalk from frost with a something like a cut-off plastic bottle.
