Heanor Town Vipers V Priory Celtic Hoops
The Vipers were still eager for their first league win, and the first quarter seemed like it was just a matter of time. For a good while the game was all in the Hoops half, with several balls from Theo and Frankie in the midfield making their way to Harvey, who was met by a wall of Priory players, defensive and on the back foot. Isaac and Spencer saw little action but were confident and strong when called upon.
After the changover, Oliver was met with much the same resistance as Harvey, despite Francis and Jaxx making several runs up the wing. The Hoops found a sudden burst of speed, with Norrie being called upon to make several clearances before the Hoops finally managed to slip past him, with Isaac unable to reach the bottom corner in time.
The Vipers weren't happy with being behind, stepping out in the second half with determination. Jaxx made a blinding run up the left wing and powered the ball past the keeper within the first minute to level the score.
Vipers increased their passing game from this point, but the Hoops were again on the defensive forming an impenetrable fortress around their keeper. Play continued up and down the field with both teams making chances but unable to finish the job.
Vipers take the point and look forward to a home fixture next week.
MOTM - awarded to Jaxx this week for sheer determination and excellent work ethic 🏆
