Hello all!🥰
I am very sorry for being so quiet on here, I've been busy preparing and writing my first ever Celebrancy speech🤗
As an apology for my lack of posts, I'd thought I'd make up a list of pointers/questions for couples who are struggling to write personal vows for their wedding day❤️
Sometimes having questions to answer makes it easier to write, so I hope this is useful to those of you who need it!✨️

If you would like some further assistance on personal vow writing please feel free to DM me😀

I am also taking bookings for 2025 onwards if you want a fully personalised Wedding celebration 🍾

Take care everyone!🥰

Hello folks💞
Here again, with another ritual!
This one is slightly more complicated than the rest as you need a sundial😀

☀️The Sundial Ritual☀️

This is when both partners put their finger through the hole of a sundial at opposite ends until their fingers are touching. After this, the newlyweds could involve their wedding party into this unity ritual by asking them to pass a silk scarf through the hole three times whilst saying their wishes to the couple out loud.❤️

This can be meaningful for the couple as their friends and family wish for the couple to have a happy, long and fulfilling marriage 💖

Also makes for great photos, especially the old-timey sundials! ☺️

Sundial rituals can be performed anywhere, as long as there's a sundial😉 from research, Ireland still uses the sundial ritual regularly for the ceremony in weddings🇮🇪

Would you be interested in the Sundial ritual for your special day? 💘

Who has heard of the handfasting ritual?
This is one of the most popular rituals for a Wedding Ceremony🤗

Handfasting is a symbolic act that takes place during a wedding ceremony, where the hands of the happy couple are bound together with ribbon or cord, to represent their commitment to each other❤️

Whilst the couples' hands are wrapped, some like to recite vows, sing a song or read a poem🥰

Handfasting is from Celtic origin, and dates back to 7000 B.C and is popular here in Scotland and Ireland🤯

You can also keep your knot in a memory box or frame to remember the moment ❤️

Greetings🥰 I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine we have been blessed with over the past few days☀️
I am back with another ritual! This is called the "Tree-Planting Ceremony"🌳

During a section of the couples' ceremony they will together plant a tree they've picked in a location that holds meaning to them❤️

The tree symbolises the couples' relationship for strength and growth on life's unpredictable journey🤗

Couples' can also go to visit the specific tree they have planted on special occasions like their wedding anniversary. It also makes for some great wedding pictures❤️

There is no direct source of where the Tree-Planting ritual originated, but has been an ancient custom for many cultures over centuries🤯

Would you be interested in the Tree-Planting ceremony for your special day?💕

Hello folks, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend💕

As promised, I am back again with another wedding ritual! Last week we talked about the Scottish Oathing Stone Ritual.
This week, I would like to talk about a ritual named, "Jump the Broom".🧹

The Jump the Broom ritual is very popular to this day for a Wedding ritual. The origins of this ritual is uncertain, but many believe that it originated in West Africa as brooms were commonly used as a way to ward off evil spirits😈

A Broom is placed on the ground in front of the couple near the end of their ceremony. Once they are finished, they jump over the Broom together.

The Broom symbolises a new beginning, whilst sweeping away the past🌟 and the placement of the Broom can make beautiful wedding pictures 🥰

Interested in the Jump the Broom ritual? Message me for any inquiries 🥳

Have a great week!💞

Hello all!🤗
It's been a little while since I last posted on here, but we are back and ready to go!!👌

Did you know that there are 20+ different wedding rituals for your ceremony? Also, did you know that there is a Scottish ritual?😵

🌟Every week I will post a new wedding ritual and their origins.🌟

This week, let's begin with a Scottish wedding ritual (that is just so sweet!)💖💖

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿"The Oathing Stone" ritual.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Both partners will pick a stone/pebble from a local area to them. For example, if you both regularly visit a local beach, you may wish to use stones/pebbles from that specific beach.

You can decorate the stone however you desire. The couple will then hold the stone whilst reciting their vows to each other.

This, is taken from the ancient Celtic custom of, "setting an oath in stone". 💖💖

Afterwards, some couples like to keep the stone/pebble as a reminder of their special day.

If you're interested in the Oathing Stone ritual, then feel free to drop me a message and I can explain more in depth🤗

Have a great week, and I'll be back next week with another wedding ritual!💕

What is the main tool for a Wedding Celebrant speech? 🤔

Humans began telling stories many many years ago to find sense in the world. This started with drawings of animals, and then stories were passed down generation to generation through word of mouth 💬

We use storytelling to educate, to entertain, to inspire and to commemorate 💞

The ability to story-tell is very important for a Wedding Celebrancy speech. When I write a couples’ story, I have at the forefront of my mind that I am verbally passing on their own legacy to their families and friends🌟

As your Wedding Celebrant, my main goal will be to tell your story to your friends and family, in whichever way you want me to. Whether it be a romantic love story, a sad story or even a funny story. I want your speech to reflect how you both are as a couple💖

I'll end this with a quote from a very wise character,

"We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?”

💞 Hello all! 💞

As some of you may be aware, I have recently completed training in Wedding Celebrancy, to become an Independent Wedding Celebrant.

A little bit about me ❤️

I am 23 years old and live in the Highlands of Scotland. I graduated from the University of the Highlands and Islands with a degree in Drama. Since my graduation in 2020, I've been working as a Support Practitioner.

About a year ago, I had an idea. I wanted to utilise the training I've had performing live and decided to go down the path of Wedding Celebrancy.

My training was completed on the 22nd of April 2023 and I'm very excited to kick-start my new venture🌟

You may be asking yourself, what exactly is an Independent Wedding Celebrant?🤔

An Independent Wedding Celebrant is someone who is trained to lead celebrancy speeches at weddings, which includes all of the rituals, vows and ring exchanges.💘

The couple will sign their legal marriage documents before their wedding, which means that the celebrancy speech can be completely personalised to the couples wishes.

Typically, an Independent Celebrant is ideal for EVERYONE! 🥳🥳
You're having a traditional wedding with religious ceremonial rituals?
You're having a non-traditional wedding?
Independent Celebrants can do it all!🥰

As an Independent Celebrant, the sky is the limit for all possibilities to make sure your day is how YOU want it!❤️

I decided to get into Wedding Celebrancy because weddings are such a joyous occasion, and to be able to articulate a couples personal love story to their loved ones is truly a special opportunity.💕
