One man’s tat is another man’s treasure.
And have we got some treasures for you!

Monday 5th is “Old Tat Night”
The first half of the evening is your chance to show us the effects that didn’t quite live up to their advertising or is well loved, but just a bit old and tatty.
The second half is an opportunity to relieve me of some of the items that have been donated to the club over the years.
All money made will go to club funds, no reasonable offer refused, I need the space.
Bring cash. Many bargains to be had!

Monday’s meeting is Ladies’ Night, where the female magicians in the club entertain. This will be rounded off with an open night for anybody to perform and we even have an audition.
The night is open to none members, but space is limited. So if you would like to come along, get in touch first please.

Monday’s meeting is Kev’s Teach-in night.
Open to members and anybody who would like to learn something new.
He has lined up a great selection of tutors to teach a variety of skills, (and me!)
Everyone else will have decided what to bring to the table, but the problem is what on earth can I teach? Any ideas let me know. Maybe I could discuss how I managed to get away with what I do for so long!

Tonight’s the night our members Bill, Dan, Lee, Phil, Lizzie and Kev are giving up there Saturday nights and are off on our annual pilgrimage to entertain the good folk at Cheveley Royal British Legion! A night of close up and cabaret in order to raise some much needed club funds!

The Taskmaster and his able assistant little Daniel Bean (who does all the heavy lifting) are getting ready for the second edition of the IMS does Taskmaster. We have many pointless individual and team tasks arranged to test your skill and inventiveness.
If you’ve never seen Taskmaster, firstly why not, secondly check it out on 4OD or YouTube.
This years prize task is to bring in the most interesting deck of cards, the person with the most interesting deck of cards, in the eyes of the Taskmaster, will secure many points and also take home all the interesting decks of cards. Remember if you lose this task you lose the cards, so nothing too precious!

So our lecturer for tonight has had to pull out due to ill health, but fear not. At very short notice we have managed to arrange for Wayne Goodman to join us.
So be prepared for an evening of fun, mystery and exciting new items from the prolific brain of Mr Wayne Goodman!

On Monday March 4th, Ipswich Magical Society will be hosting a very special lecture on President's night. The ice man cometh! Kieron Johnson, famous for his effects with fire, ice, liquids and chaos will be visiting to teach us all of his secrets. Definitely one not to miss.

🌟 What a fantastic Monday evening we had! 🌟

I can't help but share how great "An Audience with Mick Underwood" was! It truly was an unforgettable night! 😄

Mick began by telling us stories from his childhood that had us all in stitches. The laughter just wouldn't quit, and there were more than a few moments that had us holding our breath! 😅

But that's not even the best part – the evening held some surprises in store! We were graced by the presence of a German Professor, Frank Spencer, Reverend Michael, and believe it or not, even the iconic Tommy Cooper made an appearance! 🎩✨

These kinds of nights remind us of the magic that happens when a community comes together to create special memories. A huge thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this night unforgettable. 🙌

Let's keep the good vibes going and watch this space for more events like this in the future. 🎉

Next Monday’s meeting (6th November) is An Audience with Mick Underwood. (Or the stories of a cross dressing vicar!)
Prepare for a night of anecdotes and laughter.
Who knows where Mick’s stories will lead us, all I will say is that anybody that has spent anytime with Mick when he is in full flow will know what a great night it will be.

Monday 7th August due to popular demand “The Big Teach In 2” after our last meeting was so well received and I think it’s safe to say everybody got something out of it and had a thoroughly enjoyable night! We have decided to do it again! Come and learn some magic, Workshops, group and one on one, help with routines, sleights, stage craft and showmanship! A free and easy mix and mingle night open to non members so if you know anyone who’s interested in magic but doesn’t know where to start bring them along!

Fresh from his Car Crash Magic show at the Edinburgh Fringe, Jezo @jezosmagic will be lecturing at lIpswich Magical Society on Monday September 18th £10 guest fee for non members to attend. See website for further details

September 4th is Presidents requests night, where I've asked some of our prominent members to bring their best acts for us all to see.

July 3rd 2023 is a themed performance night all about chaos, chance, probability and coincidence! Members are all encouraged to bring their favourite trick for this theme and perform for the whole club.
