It has been so busy behind the scenes for the festive season, that we have just not caught up with our social media of late!

Here’s the most amazing installation at our darling friends Cafe U in Kelso.

We are absolutely thrilled to bits with this Christmassy installation by our lovely friends ♥️. All but the eucalyptus and fir were sourced locally, which is the kinda thing that makes us smile at Cafe U 😊🥰. 2024 has been another tough year for some. Fraser & Kirstin were tempted to huff and grumble their way through to the new year, but the lyrics to God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen have got a hold of us, ‘…rest, comfort, joy, let nothing you dismay’. As the year draws to a close we hope the evergreen welcome makes you smile and gently nudges you towards some rest, comfort and joy. Happy Advent to the wonderful community we are a part of and to all our fantastic customers and friends 🥰✨🎄

What better way to start November than with a piece of S. S. Wesley: ‘Choral Song’. Recorded on the organ of Doncaster Minste. (You’ll notice my head tilting towards the end! There are so many stops/buttons! 😂)

This week Jamie has been away in Southwell singing with York based choir Caelestis. A lovely time away singing with friends. Pieces by Gibbons, Dyson & Stopford.

We’ve missed being in the studio and around Kelso this week, and so it’s lovely to be back to work today!

On Saturday, I had the honor of being invited, for the second year, to judge the floral art at the Yetholm Border Shepherd Show. It was an absolutely wonderful day. The exquisite flower arrangements, buttonholes, and the evident dedication this year made judging an especially challenging task. Every entrant’s efforts were truly remarkable! I continue to be inspired by the talented individuals who participated.

This particular arrangement is my interpretation of autumnal foliage, complemented by a few locally grown flowers. The elegant container, which I purchased on Sunday at the Kelso Antique Fleamarket, fits beautifully in The Drawing Room at home.

There’s something truly special about reviving vintage pieces, infusing them with new life and honoring the history of those who cherished them before.
