Canapés, nibbles, morsels, snacks, hors d'oeuvres - whatever you call them, aren't they great!!?🤤

Over the summer we've loved doing these at weddings, drinks parties and on farm travel trade events so we follow 3 simple rules:

1. Small enough to fit in the average mouth without wearing half of it!
2. Able to eat - while maintaining an air of sophistication - with one hand, while holding a drink and clutch purse in the other.
3. All produced on site maintaining our principles of fresh, local, tasty and plentiful.

So what's your favourite - a simple sausage, arancini balls, a salt & pepper prawn, a smashed pea, parma ham and sourdough crostini or something different?
We're always looking for fresh ideas, and with wedding planning on the go for 2026/27 it's good to have new ones to offer!

What a great night yesterday at the regional finals of the Thistle Awards!

We were nominated in the 'Best Eating Experience' category across the South of Scotland - and we only bloody went and won😁😬🤣😎🤣

The Judges were impressed with the values we maintain, the use of many many local producers, and our drive for seasonally inspired menus to produce a truly authentic experience.

What we offer wouldn't be possible without a fantastic group of folk who help us out at events and on farm. Many thanks to everyone - whether you've chopped, stirred, served, carried, washed, stacked, fried, poured or peeled it wouldn't be possible to deliver to the quality we aim for without you😍

Delighted to share that we've reached the Visit Scotland regional final for area in the 'Best Eating Experience' section!
Another couple of great Agritourism businesses in our category to compete with and we wish them luck (but obviously not too much🤣😉🤣) and look forward to the final in October!

Pudding from today’s 25 Mile BBQ - Rhubarb and Custard Tarts! Forced Rhubarb from the garden poached in Ginger cordial with creamy custard and buttery pastry shells - all made in house. Our guests were also treated (we hope) to tasting a mixture of our own Hereford steaks but predictably, we have not photographed this… But still, that tart!

We have two BBQs in June - one next weekend on the 1st (still a few tickets) and also on the 15th, which is nearly sold out. After this beautiful rain, looks like the fine weather will return. And don’t forget we have a Curry night on Friday 13th too 🐈‍⬛ What could go wrong?

'I was there on their first personal event in the Hay Shed' you can say in the future if you fancy a BBq on Sunday!?🤣

We'll be closing bookings for this on Friday morning to give us time to source ingredients for a delicious local feast. If you fancy gathering a few friends or just want to come along by yourself, then you'll be very welcome.

With the first BBq of the summer for us on Sunday, typically the weather looks set to change... which isn't a bad thing for the farm, but it isn't the best for BBqs!! But don't worry, we have the situation covered, literally🤣

The Hay Shed adjacent to the The Stable has been upgraded to provide a covered area for larger events when the weather is a bit iffy, but still with the connection to the outdoors.

We've had some outstanding help on this project from Andrew from OnTick Groundworks and Planthire who's a master at working with our mad ideas, and also the team from LCS Joinery who fitted windows and an old 8ft door bought for the project 🤣🙈

We still have availability for Sunday if you're looking for a fun afternoon with great food. Link in bio to website. We've just had some our wonderful beef back from the butchers and wow - it's crying out for a bbq!

🐝 🐝 Beautiful honeycomb, oozing with fragrant raw honey, delivered by today. These hives are on the farm which aside from providing delicious honey, is very beneficial in many ways. Bees pollinate both cultivated crops and wild plants, contributing to a healthy and diverse ecosystem on the farm. These wild plants provide food and shelter for other insects, birds, and mammals, supporting the entire food chain 🐝 🐝
