The penultimate week of October's Thursday Pub Quiz at The Compass for Macmillan Cancer Support saw another great turnout, with 14 teams taking part, including our newest team "Hedgehogs".

"Harbour Lights" took an early lead, playing their Joker card in the first round 'Starter For Ten', scoring 16 points.

The Word Puzzle Round this week was 'Inconsonants' - the names of ten popular British TV quiz and game shows, where all of the consonants had been removed. Despite "The Clan" getting all ten correct to win 2 Bonus Points, "Your Mum" took full advantage of their Joker to win the round on 16 points.

In the 'Multiple Choice' round, "The Clan" and "Smarteenies On Tour" shared the round, with a Joker-boosted 16 points apiece.

For the Picture Round, the topic was 'The Eyes Have It' - 10 famous British TV personalities, but only their eyes were visible. It was "Team Mac" who came out on top this time, with 16 points courtesy of their Joker.

The Themed Round this week was a Music Round - 10 well-known 'Piano Songs'. "The Team With No Name" got all ten correct, earning 2 Bonus Points, but "Universally Challenged" had played their Joker to score 18 points and win the round.

Our 'Total Wipeout' Jackpot was £80 this week, but still no winner - "Harbour Lights" and "The Clan" getting the loudest boos with 5 points each - SEVEN teams receiving big cheers for scoring ZERO! So it's another Snowball Jackpot for our Halloween Quiz this Thursday, with £90 now the prize on offer!

It was down to the 'Guess Who?' round to determine who this weeks winners would be - SIX teams correctly guessed national treasure Joanna Lumley as the mystery celebrity on the first clue. However, it was "Smarteenies On Tour" who were picked out in the draw to win the £20 - well done to them!

But it was "The Clan" who held out to win this week, and get their hands on the £25 Greene King Brewery Gift Card - congratulations to them!
