She was engaged by their texture, shape, colour and fragrance and loved to create her own wild bouquets. After leaving school she enrolled at Hadlow College where she studied Horticultural Design. This increased her knowledge on all aspects of plant life and design and also gave her a head start when it came to enrolling on the floristry course 2 years later. Over the last 18years she has worked n
ear and far as a freelance florist focusing on all aspects of floristry, she helped establish and manage one of the top 5 florists in Singapore. Her most accomplished achievements so far include hosting a floral workshop for Jo Malone London, designing and arranging flowers for an Indonesian Princesses birthday party, creating a flower wall (like Kim Kardasians wedding) and taking part in an interview for Home and Decor magazine where she gave valuable information to their readers, on how to keep your flowers fresh. ✨ Part Four ✨ Loading the vehicle 🚗 this can be like a giant jigsaw puzzle.. You need strength and determination, you maybe even need more than one trip.. Are you delivering the bouquets and buttonholes to different places?? This has to be arranged and organised making sure there’s plenty of time..
The BEST part of the job is passing over the Brides bouquet 💐 the smile (and happy tears) makes it all worth while.. Once the Bridal party has everything it’s time to -
Set up the church and venue, if you’ve organised yourself careful you will have this part down to a fine art.. laying the tables, fix the pew ends, create the arch, position the pedestals..
If you’re now not exhausted by reading a small snippet into the life of a florist the last bit is -
Coming back the following day to collect all of your vases, pedestals, archway designs.. checking stock, cleaning and packing, this is all part of the job and as you can see from this post there is Plenty for us florists to be doing all in the life of a wedding florist..

Part Two ✨ Then the real work starts there - We run through every design and work out the quantities of flowers needed..
From this we then create a flower order to make sure every flower will be at its finest on the day. We will set the dates in the diary and place numerous flower orders across 2 weeks to ensure the flowers are looking picture perfect!
Now to prep the labels, boxes, ribbons and wrappings for the bouquets and other items on the list, make sure the vases, pedestals, arch bases, are all sparkling clean and in good working order. ( could be a whole morning or a day depending how big the wedding is to organise)
It’s also a job to check out the sundries are all in order.. Do we need more wires, twine or Pearl headed pins? Have we ordered in the ribbon to match the bridesmaids dresses? Or the magnets?

The word wanderlust means to travel.. I have lived and travelled abroad and like to think of myself as the travelling florist, this is where the name Wanderlust Floristry came about.
Wanderlust Floristry has two main focuses. One, to create your dream wedding or event in fresh or silk flowers. Two, to help teach you a new skill in one of our floral workshops which we host in the comfort of your own home. We also offer more options including children’s parties, hiring out props and freelance flower service.
I have a wealth of experience when it comes to flowers, I started my fascination with beautiful blooms when I was a little girl. I would pick flowers from my garden and put together little bouquets for my sister and my bedroom, just adding a little fragrance and a burst of colour to my space made me happy.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be more involved with nature and when I left school I enrolled on a garden design course at Hadlow College, there I learnt everything I needed to know about plants and flowers (along with all the latin names that go with it!).
It suddenly hit me that I craved more.. I wanted to be involved in peoples lives, special events and important moments, this is where I went on to study floristry at Hadlow and gained my qualifications in floristry. I have over eleven years experience, five of these years I lived in Singapore where I gained additional skills and life lessons, these all added to my floral knowledge today. Whilst I was in Asia I also completed a life3 course hosted by three famous florists where we studied texture, structure and colour.
I offer a bespoke floral service for all things flower related, it could be anything from freelancing to teaching, to creating your wedding flowers. I think it is so important to make people happy, thats what life is all about and I know that through using flowers as a platform, I can create a pleasant feeling.
I believe my journey has enhanced my design skills further and have coloured my route and senses which have lead me to this point.
