Marjorie King`s School of Dancing was established in 1970 and it recent times has become one of the most successful dance schools in the country. In the last 5 years we have guided students to more than 25 championship titles across all age categories. We have class lessons and private tuition is available in Ballroom, Latin American, Classical & Modern Sequence. All abilities are welcome; we cate

r for beginner’s right up to British Champions. Do you teach adults and children? Yes, we teach students of all ages. We teach students from as young as 2 years old in our Wednesday under 6 years’ beginner’s classes right up to well over 80 in our adult social classes. Whatever age you are there will be a class for you. What If I’m just a beginner? Then you’re in the right place. We have beginner’s classes for all children and adults throughout the week in Classical, ballroom and Latin. You don’t need to have any previous dancing experience and we confident that we can get you dancing even in you do have ‘2 left feet’. Do I need a partner? If you don’t have a partner and are looking for adult classes then look no further than our Wednesday evening class at The Eden Centre Kettering. More than half of those who come along do so without a partner, it’s a great environment and great place to socialise. The majority of our other adult classes are set up for couples though we also have private tuition which again doesn’t require you to have a partner. Can I take dancing exams? We encourage everyone to work towards exams which are up to twice a year. This gives you the opportunity to progress your dancing. We’ll teach you all about dancing technique as you learn new and exciting routines for each exam. Can I enter competition? We pride ourselves on the success our students have achieved at competition level. From British Championships to local beginner and novice competitions, if you would like to try your hand at dancing in a competitive environment then there are great opportunities. What if I would just like to dance for fun? If you would just like to dance for fun then there are classes that are perfect for you, just like our Wednesday evening lessons. You don’t need a partner, there is no pressure to prepare for exams you can just come along and enjoy learning how to dance with great company. What about social dancing? Throughout the year we host social dances in Kettering, Corby & Geddington and we’d love for you to come along. It’s a great chance to meet new people who you can dance the night away with.

Whilst so many of us are off on exciting holidays or enjoying some downtime over August, we've paused our 7.30pm Tuesday Adult Ballroom & Latin from this week until September.

In the meantime, drop us a message if you're around and would like a private or small group lesson :).

We'll look forward to seeing you all again refreshed and ready to go on 3 September.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Keith Wall, a beloved member of our dance school for many years.

Keith established a school award in memory of his daughter Denise, who was a former pupil, and supported many young dancers including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Keith's family would like to extend an invitation to anyone who has memories of him, no matter how small, to join them in paying their respects at his funeral:

For those acquainted with Keith, his immense dedication to the community was evident throughout his life, particularly in his commitment to supporting young people in various capacities. As a final act of community involvement, our family are raising funds in his honour for two charities close to Keith's heart. One of these charities is The Travers Foundation, which sponsored two students from Kings Dancesport through their dance careers.

Lacey Lonergan- Dancer Picking up wins In her Classical, Modern and Latin sequence events!

Lucy Lonergan Hitting top 3 in U14 and dancing through to U16 finals!

Have to give a big mention to these two beautiful couples! At the recent Blackpool Dance Festival, Roger Griss and Annette won not once, but twice, retaining both their Senior Classical and Modern Sequence Championship titles 🏆🏆 Absolutely on top of their game!!

Then Duncan (in his stunning new dance suit) and Denise (looking as stunning as ever) danced their way Into the over 35 final, and got 2nd in the over 50s 🥈🙌. Amazing achievements from you both!
