Basket arrangements are still very popular for the lady ladies .
The younger or young at heart they love them .
This basket design is what is called an all over which means you can see the flowers from all round , there is no front or back to this design .
Best to sit on a table to show off its beauty .
The wicker baskets come in different sizes , with or without an handle , round or oval , even some baskets are deeper than others , different shapes , high handle or a low handle . There are different prices depends on the quality , I have know cheaper baskets that their handles fall off with the weight of the flowers , oasis and water , so we always make sure you receive the best .
As you can see this basket design is delicate and feeling a summers day look .

Due to the weather we are having more customers buying our silk flower range .
At least this way they will last whatever the weather .
It is good because people are thinking of the colours and flowers for the season instead our fresh flowers due to the weather can become limited very quickly .
You do have a choice from flowers that look like silk and others that look very realistic .All depends on how much you wish to spend , we have some customers that just buy a couple of stems at a time building up their silk flower collection and not costing too much all in one go .This is a great idea .
We do stock silk flower bunches too , but there are not longer what you would call cheap silk flower bunches because everyone are looking for better quality and not the old fashioned plastic looking flowers .
Because our shop is a small village florist shop our customers explain what they are looking for and their price and leave the rest for us to sort as we just don't have the room to display all our silk flower range .

Ants are driving everyone nuts .
This is because the weather is too dry , which means the ants come out to play .
We have in stock 2 sorts and different pots but both are powder form .
You put down when its not raining or wet . It works quickly .
Ants can eat your flowers and when they bring their family and set up camp they are a nightmare and ants do bite .
It is better to be ready for them .

When you are looking to see what wrist corsage you need for your prom always remember that you have a choice on the bracelets and how thin or wide , come in different colours , pearls , beads , chunky or elegant designs looking .
The design can be wild and wacky or tasteful or small .
I have had upset customers when they have brought theirs off line and when it arrives it looks cheap , its been attached to a hair band , the beads when trying it on has broke or the colour you see and thought you were buying when it arrives the pale pink arrives orange coral . All this is very upsetting .
The cheaper the bracelets the beads do look cheap which is no good against an elegant dress , it will cheapen the over all look and this is not the look you want .

The Cookley Florists have been asked for seeds , we have in stock flower seeds and veg seeds . Even seeds for the children to grow their sunflowers . All year round crops .
As food crop keeps on rising we have noticed more people having a go at growing their own .

This year seems to be the weather that snails and slugs love .
Orchids Corner Florist has in stock a Large container of pellets which killers both snails and slugs . Doff make price £8.50 .
My customers have explained their veg crop has been eaten and the leaves of their flowers and in some cases even the flower heads have been eaten too .
So frustrating , and the pellets work .

At Orchids Corner our florists understand that there are some ladies who loves flowers but they can not have the fresh flowers due to hay fever or their pets .
What our florists are creating are silk and dried mixed together displays . Now a days the silk flowers look as good as the real flowers , not like in the good old days when the silk flowers looked cheap and so plastic and lets face it , never real looked anything like the real flowers .
This silk and dried basket arrangement in the picture was created especially for a lady who loved her flowers but her home was just too hot to have fresh flowers , and has she got older she never wanted the mess , not to mention the lady did not like seeing her fresh flowers dying as it made her feel sad .
So her family had a chat with our florist and we started creating and this was the stunning result . To this day the lady still loves her flowers and can't believe that they are not real .

Funeral Items Letters . When you are looking to order Letters for a funeral , you need to think what colours will stand out , what colours did the person like . Flower bouquets are made up fresh . It is best to order a few days in advance . Bouquets start from £30.00 this gives you a nice selection of flowers and we try to keep in seasons . We understand not everyone likes lilies or roses or even strong colours , this is why we always ask what the person is like who will receive them .
It is very easy to think what you like the person will like too and that is not always the case .We have customers who buys flowers very bright strong colours and when we speak with the person receiving them the flowers don't fit their life style at all . They would have liked the pastel shades . Some people feel spray carnations are for the elderly lady yet we have young ladies in their 20's who love them instead of roses .
We even get asked are the supermarket bouquets the same as the florists and the answer is NO . Supermarkets call their flower bunches bouquets as us florists call them bunches . From a florist , flower bouquets are bouquets and not bunches . This seems to confuse the public .

This Aqua pack flower bouquet was a lovely idea for a funeral .
The customer ordered and collected , then took their flowers to the funeral themselves and after was placed on the table at the wake for all to see and made the room look pretty . After, gave it to the deceased loved one to take home instead of leaving these flowers at the crem.
Aqua pack flower bouquet has the flowers arranged and they sit in water , all you need to remember is to top up the water as the flowers will drink .
