Harvesting fresh lavender to make a couple of wreathes today then that's the season at an end. Picked after the bees had visited.

Managed out to the garden to harvest dahlias, cosmos, bells of canterbury, strawflowers, statice, amni, fennel & and few others for a large bouquet today.
As the rain advanced it was time to make another wreath... lavender with lemon thyme.🪻🌼🪻
All outside sheltering in the mini greenhouses.
Flash news... we have 3 new furry friends residing in the gin garden!! 🐇🐇🐇🫣💕

Even though its raining the flowers still soldier on!
3 bunches of sweet peas and a large bouquet now sheltering in the plastic covered greenhouse today. The lavender wreath in the mini greenhouse.
If you would like any put by please PM me and I'll keep them dry in the porch.
Meantime looks likes its an admin day for me!

Another busy day.... 🤩🙌🏻💐
The flower stand today has a large agapanthus bouquet (first one 😁) along with the usual smaller posies in the mini greenhouse. Sweet peas sold out - fresh ones hopefully tomorrow. Had a few deliveries including to a few local restaurants then I made a lavender bouquet this evening....the smell is amazing, pricing it at £20 if anyone is interested.
All this along with watching the Olympics! 🏅

Canterbury Bells, purple Irises, foxgloves, spirea, fennel and ox eye daisies. Pastel and purple shades for todays large bouquet. £12.
Otherwise there are four small posies with or without jars available today too

As promised, here's the photos of the first Alstromelia, teamed them up with a new grass I'm growing this year - Foxtail Barley. Think they complement one another quite well?
There were gone within two hours... someone must agree with me too!☺️Thank you for purchasing them, I'm delighted and they should last for ages 🙌🏻💐

As a small flower farmer/florist its always a changing window of flowers ready for arrangements. Last week it was the peonies and now it's the Alstoemeria's turn!
They are at least 3 weeks earlier than usual yet other plants are weeks behind.... is anyone else finding this? It's been quite a topsy turvy season so far....
So look out for the larger bouquets appearing this week.....more photos to follow!

Well its been some day!
Lots of happy customers picking up orders & deliveries. .....Wait for it the pink peonies and sweet peas sold out within the first hour this morning!

On my day trip today to Culzean Castle & Gardens with Kilmacolm Horticultural Society, I spied this gorgeous bird bath.... 🐦‍⬛🛀🏻🪿🦚
Think it fits perfectly on the tree stump that had been left just for this purpose. What do you think?

The garden is really starting to come to life! 🙌🏻🌸🌺☀️🌧️🌈
Ranunculus at last flowering after planting their corms in February.
One of my favourites is the foxglove which I allow to grow where it chooses within reason! The ox eye daisy is a wild flower which produces beautiful white daisy flowers all summer, you should give them a go as they are quite hardy.
Small posies are available with all these flowers. We also have the arrival of Lesley and Alisons homemade cards. 🎉🙌🏻

Brave Move!!! 😬
Yesterday I planted out the first Cosmos and Calendula under a fleece covering to protect against frost and the bunnies! 🥶🐇
So fingers crossed they make it 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Tulips still going strong, loving the colours 🌷🌷🌷

At last the tulips are free after being protected from the bunnies and voles that enjoy a snack on the bulbs during winter. 🤔🐰🐭
The picked tulips have gone too far to sell, but this was a trial year to see how they would perform..... considering the weather, I'm really pleased.

Hi, hope you are all surviving this damp dreary weather!! 🌤️🌈💦
Since my last post which showed preparing these Ranunculus corms, they have come on really well. A fortnight later I transplanted them, after the first few leaves were showing, into individual pots and yesterday I transfered them outside.
The beds have been suplimented with my own compost and some Mother Earth shop bought compost. Ive had to cover them with mesh as a couple of easter bunnies have arrived!!! 🐰🐰
Im hoping they will settle down and grow into beautiful flowering plants to start my third season off... hopefully late May. All depends on the rabbits behaving and the sunshine arriving 🤞🏻

Ranunculus 🌸🌼🌸🌼
These perennials are one of my favourite flowers in Spring yet I have found them difficult to grow in our wet climate.😫🤷‍♀️
However Im having another go using a different method than direct sow.
Method:
1. Soak the corms in tepid water for 3 to 4 hours
2. Plant corms side by side in rows to start them growing
3. A thin layer of soil, under and over. Ive used John Innes No1 seed compost
4. After a fortnight they should have grown small roots, so will lift them using a fork and pot on into individual containers with general compost.
They will be left in my unheated greenhouse until first frosts have passed.

I hope this is of interest. I will post my progress if all works out well... fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 All comments welcome! 🙋🏼‍♀️😁💐

🌷🌷Tulips!! 🌷🌷
Now is the time to get your tulips planted as the colder weather blows in.
I'm "intensely farming" for cut flowers, hence why they are in uniform rows... a minature version of the dutch farms! 😆
Also I have a few pesky squirrels and field mice living around the garden who love them as a dinner treat! So I've covered them with chicken wire in the hope they cant get to them. I believe that you can transplant them when the growing tip shows through... so I'll trial that next year and let you know how I get on. Happy planting!

Golden Leaf Mould! 🍁🍂🍁
As Autumn slips into Winter, Im busy preparing the garden for its well earned rest.
Over the next few weeks I urge you all to capture your falllen leaves to make wonderful loam/compost to nourish your garden next year.
These photos are of last years leaves... just perfect to protect shrubs, herbaceous plants and to plant next years bulbs in... I've plenty tulips awaiting! 🌷🌷🌷
