This week Amy Dakin Harris in Remote Residency ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ

Amy will be using this time to incorporate practices from her life as a mover into her life as a land worker. As spring arrives, she has the opportunity to 'meet' the land of her new growing site, and she wants to centre somatic experience in this process.

The residency takes place over a whole month in order to be integrated into the life of a working farm, and to help establish rhythms and rituals for a more regenerative practice in the long term.

๐Ÿ’ซโœจ๏ธBlissful ikebana workshop complete โœจ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ

Thank you to all who came to my first floristry workshop which celebrates my 100% organic and Glasgow-grown harvest! It's a privilege to choose this work of growing beautiful plants that greatly benefit the local supply chain, but it felt like a really nourishing afternoon for all the participants too... such a serene, relaxing activity and environment, with the chance to tune into the natural surroundings and create works of art inspired by them.

Floristry doesn't have to be a polluting and unethical industry. When we take care to nurture all ecosystems and learn sustainable mechanics, we can participate in reciprocal care - we nurture plants, they nurture us.

It was inspiring to see how each participant approached form and colour palette in such different ways. Big thank you to for teaching the class ๐Ÿ’–

If you're keen to learn more sustainable floristry techniques using my locally grown flowers, we have a harvest wreath workshop coming up on September 30th - bookings already open! ๐ŸŒพ

As you may have seen, last weekend's Ikebana workshop with & I has been postponed until 27th August.
So what to do with all the flowers I cut? Well, one solution was to add them to my drying rack, which is just as well since the other workshop we're running is for making dried harvest wreaths! And I get to enjoy watching them change... I have a few hanging corners in my house and they're all very busy with herbs & flowers & seed heads this time of year ๐Ÿ˜
I've reintroduced *EARLY BIRD* prices until midnight this Sunday, so if you were keen but couldn't join on the previous date, now's the time to book! Link in bio ๐ŸŒฟ

Hia ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm Amy. I'm a cut flower grower, I run community herb projects and I'm also a movement practitioner... I love being outdoors, foraging, sharing awe & wonder for the natural world with others, and generally feeling in tune with my body and the seasons.

Until last summer, I was employed by an organic food/flower producer as a grower. But after an accumulation of jobs that overworked & underpaid me, I was fed up of feeling undervalued, and here I am today, with 'Remedy Fields'. I strongly believe that regenerative agriculture must include HUMANS in our ideas of what is regenerative/sustainable, e.g. fair pay, enough rest, working seasonally, etc. This is what I endeavour to create for myself, and anyone that I come in contact with. Swipe for a summary of my values in doing this work!

One day, I imagine being in a cooperative of workers with our own land to grow herbs, flowers and host all sorts of healing modalities on. But this year, you'll find me selling cut flowers from the small spaces I rent, running a range of community herb garden projects, and hosting a few other embodiment and creative workshops. I forage wild herbs throughout the year and concoct them into herbal medicines to sell around Christmas. There are multiple ways for us to meet! I looking forward to seeing more of you in person soon ๐Ÿ’–
