HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY TO US!!
Way back in 1996 photographer Gary Evans ran a small studio based above a photography shop and mainly photographed weddings and kids portraits when he happened to be visiting friends in Southampton and saw dozens of students all smartly dressed in either black tie or ball gowns. He asked where they were going and learnt it was to their graduation ball. A quick phone call to the university ascertained that no one ever photographed the ball, and yes, if he wanted to, he could do so, but he would only get paid if the students bought directly from him
The event was a massive success and MyEventPhoto was born!
Fast forward eight years, the studio was long since sold and we were a six photographer outfit covering graduation and summer balls for over 100 universities all over the country, taking approx 20000 portraits a year
Because the university events were always weekend evenings we looked for something to do during the week and found it in 2003 when we bought out a Cambridge based staging company, although the staging we bought from them has long been replaced with the purpose built kit we use today
A couple of our photographers are totally sports mad, and wanted to try their hand at junior football tournament photography, and so that, along with rugby, got added to the services we offer, and requests now come in for every sport you can think of
Finally, lots of the couples who were photographed by the original studio had children who were getting married and asked if we could again do the photos. "Sadly, no" we'd say "but if you'd like a photo booth at the reception?" and that's when the final piece of the jigsaw was added and we arrived at the event photography company you see today

The hottest day of the year has seen us do our largest school group ever - 600 pupils and 80 staff all in the one shot!
Judging from the video, a school photo is a lot more fun than a maths lesson!
