Just me and the ghosts 👻 getting our bake on tonight

Sat here Waiting for my last bake to finish thinking what a difference 12 months and a lot of hard work makes
This time last year we was on the verge of closing, never in a million years did I think I’d be sat here after a 16hr day in January thinking of ways to cope with the amount of custom we have
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of our customers old and new because I’d probably be married or in jail if I didn’t have this place 😂

My uncle brought me a present into the cafe this afternoon… some photos his brother had taken of the area in 2018

There’s some beauty hidden in this industrial estate

If anyone has anymore photos of the area from 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and early 00’s I’d be interested in taking a look and possibly getting a copy as it would be nice to have a wall in the cafe displaying the history of the area

Now the majority of our customers are skint and on diets it’s time to give myself and the staff a little bit of a break after working through Christmas starting with this weekend

We will be closed this weekend 4th and 5th of January and we will also be closed on Sundays in January

Just eat customers will notice a significant drop in prices as this is our website we’ve no commission to pay anyone which means the price you pay in the cafe you’ll pay on the website

JUST EAT AND DELIVERY UPDATE

after speaking with just eat over the last few days we’ve decided we will no longer be trading on their platform as we was basically told we need them more than they need us

Going forward we will have our own website and delivery drivers and I’m hoping to have this up and running by next weekend at the latest

We’ve had quite a few phone calls from regular customers wanting deliveries, all I can say is bare with us and thank you for your patience I’m working on it !

We are so sorry if you’ve made an order this weekend and haven’t received it. We’ve never had these problems before but the last few weeks have been nothing short of a s**t show

The delivery drivers and courier service have been an absolute joke all weekend to the point Iv had to deliver orders myself

3 years tomorrow I moved out the trailer and into the cafe, feels quite fitting that on the day before the anniversary we have the busiest day Iv ever had in the 9 years Iv been cooking food for a living

Thank you to everyone that’s made orders, reserved tables and been in the cafe today
From 6.30 this morning we have not stopped cooking all day and not a single customer turned away which has been our main focus over the last couple of months.

Here we have the latest fiasco and the 13th road closure in 3 years with no grounds for compensation as it needs to be closed 28 consecutive days and it’s going to be open on a weekend . It’s supposed to be closed for 5 weeks. We are still open and you can still get to us but you need to drive around.

Some people go to the pub for a few pints after a stressful day others watch tv, I BAKE !! We’ve been struggling to keep up with demand this week, you may of noticed the display was empty by dinner time today so Iv done a double restock tonight and the prep work for 25 caramel scotch eggs 25 crème egg scotch eggs 25 giant ferrero rocher 25 giant rafaello These can be pre ordered tomorrow or will be for sale in cafe or just eat on Friday

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE Repairs are coming along nicely We will be open again on the 7th of January

UPDATE it's not as bad as we first thought and if materials come in time we are hoping to be back open for January We apologise for any inconvenience in the mean time and we will keep you all updated.
