For our Summer Trade Open Day on Wednesday 19th July we have invited The Street Kitchen Hull to feed our visitors.
They are part of Raise The Roof Hull Homeless Project a registered charity providing soup kitchens three times a week to the homeless in Hull and anyone suffering poverty.
Being a City Centre based business we have seen first hand the increase in rough sleepers on the streets in recent years - and this is our small way of trying to give something back.

Our food truck doesn't just sell burgers at events.
These amazing curries cooked by our volunteer Caroline and work experience girl Levi. They've done and amazing job. These will be served tonight at an event by Shell and Phil.

Our latest food hygiene rating 5* and a perfect score. All our volunteers and people on work experience are trained up to highest level we can get them to helping them find work. Following that we work with Hull college to help get people even further into catering.
We also like to ensure that all our food is of the best standard if it's being given away at our food kitchens. Sold in our shop, outside catering or by our food truck, these options help us raise funds to do what we do so if you need catering please consider us ❤

Today our food truck is near Market Rasen helping Green Task Force at a tree planting event.
If you're having a wedding, party, event or know someone having one please consider using our food truck for catering. Not only will you get 5* rated service and great food you'll also be helping the community. All of the profits our charity makes go back into helping the community via soup kitchens etc.

This Monday it's steak day.
We'll be serving Rump, Sirloin, Pork, Gammon and Vegan steaks with chips kindly fried by our friends at Kingfisher fish and chips spring bank west free to anyone homeless or struggling to pay bills from 2.30pm outside of Mecca Bingo on Ferensway.

Today we are giving out free hampers, goodie bags, toiletries, cakes and toys for anyone struggling this xmas. Queen Victoria square 11am till 1pm. No one should have to choose between paying the rent and buying food at Xmas please share to get the message out.

Monday free hampers, goodies and toys available for struggling families.
Wednesday xmas gift boxes and £5 gift cards for Greggs given to the homeless and vulnerable.
Xmas eve free festive dinner and gifts being given out by members of the public wishing to attend.
All of this is at Queen Victoria square 11am till 1pm, people are welcome to come and help or bring there own gifts but covid guidelines must be followed. Masks will be available.

We are all unpaid volunteers and receive no government funding we can only support people throughout the year because of our wonderful supporters so thank you and merry xmas.
As you are aware our soup kitchens are currently suspended just like all indoor eating venues we had to close when all other cafes etc had to shut.
Our fantastic volunteers have made sure during this time that no one should go hungry by working with food banks and producing around 400 ready meals and 400 desserts each week.
Here is a selection of this week's meals all free of charge thanks to the support of our followers.
We are a non profit community organisation and currently have had no help from Hull city council or the government and can only do what we do with your help so a huge thank you from Hulls most in need and from all of us for your support.

Some of the 100s of free meals we've sent out this week, all accompanied with free dessert for our cities most vulnerable during the virus.
We are a non profit community organisation and EVERYONE here is unpaid and do this because we care, we get no government funding and are currently giving away over 1000 free meals and desserts each month.

Well the weather is nice but your stuck indoors so we've tried to make it feel a little more summery for those vulnerable people isolating.
Instead of ready meals today we've sent 100 fresh made quiche salads free to those struggling at this time.

Unfortunately our cafe will now be closed until further notice.
This decision has not been made easily as the cafe part funds what raise the roof hull homeless project does.
We will continue to offer food from our store at half the cost of the supermarkets especially at this time of need while we can but are halting food production on site. We will continue to do what we can to help people suffering poverty but have to think of everyone's safety.
If you require food from our store and the door is locked please knock.
