Still one of the best rock and roll bands around, and now celebrating nearly 60 years in the business, (although I must add that non of the current lineup were there at the beginning! Phew! That was a close call, lol!) Ably led by the charismatic Doctor Jive, the audience bopped and jived to the nostalgic sounds, which were expertly performed by the band.
Lisa is one of the most hard working and versatile acts that we know, and her show dedicated to the 1940’s is one of the best of its kind. She began her spot by paying tribute to Dame Vera Lynn, and then continued with some of the greatest songs that will always be remembered, for defining one the most bloodiest eras in the history of mankind. ‘We must never forget.’ Thank you Lisa. You were superb!
Trevor at Key Cobbler on Holderness Road, just a dozen shops down from South Coates Lane traffic lights, now has all of the tickets up to and including September. Glad to report that Trevor is now back to full health and is open Shop days 10am to 4pm. Love to all x
For our dance spot we welcomed back popular singer Martin Yorke. Martin has also been in the business for many years, so he certainly knows how to fill a dance floor. Martin gave us a great dance spot of pops and soul classics, that went down superbly.
It was an afternoon of nostalgia, courtesy of ex ‘Stars in their Eyes’ winner, Marc Robinson.
‘Today Marc, you are going to be Buddy Holly.’ And so for his first spot Marc paid tribute to one of the greatest stars of all time - superbly belting out all of Buddy Holly’s Greatest Hits. To hear the audience singing along with such classics from more than 60 years ago was wonderful.
Marc even did a second spot, reminiscing about some of the other great stars that were in the charts at the same time as Buddy Holly, and it is fab to see that many of you can still bop! We hope that you didn’t ache too much the next day……An excellent couple of spots from a true professional, who has a very enjoyable relaxed persona.
It was a 7 hour journey for Marc to be with us, but he told us it was worth it, because he thought we have something special going on at the Willows.

You would never have believed that Westzone were a tribute act. You would have thought that the boys were the real thing. For one and a half hours they belted out the hits of Westlife and Boyzone, plus some surprises, to absolute perfection. The vocals. The dance routines. The interaction with the audience were all superb!
From the moment Hutch started, to a packed house, you could tell it was going to be a fantastic night. By 8pm the whole room was singing and when Westzone took to the stage at 9pm, it was as if the Willows Club had suddenly become the 02 stadium.
On May Bank Holiday Friday,It was as if the Willows had turned from being a club into a stadium. At least that’s what it felt like when Westzone came to the Willows.

When you have an act of this calibre the professionalism and performance is on a totally different level. Everyone was singing and dancing. Most people were on their feet. The atmosphere was electric.
Several people passed comments like ‘it’s the best night ever’ and ‘I have never had so much fun.’ It was wonderful to see lots of people in the club making their first ever visit, and telling us ‘we’ll be back.’ One of the sweetest things was when a table of young ladies told us that they had never played bingo before, and asked how to play it. Wonderful!
We have to give a mention to Richard Grant, who did a fantastic job on the sound. People generally take the sound for granted, and don’t really notice how good it is, unless it’s bad - if you get the point. The sound was up there with the very best!
Not only a great time was had by all, but over £800 was won in prize money. Many a bingo hall would be pleased with that!
These big shows are expensive to put on. They are theatre standard shows. We love putting them on, but can we can only do this with your support. Thank you for supporting us! It is very much appreciated.
Thank you to the team for the hard work, Craig and the bar staff, Cliff and Pete, and the cle

For our dance spot it was a pleasure to welcome back local favourite Leah.
Dan Padgett's portrayal of Michael Bublé was nothing short of exceptional. He had the voice, looks, and charisma that captivated everyone.
Gary Barlow just loves our afternoons. The next one is a tribute to Michael Bubble. Last few tickets left. Love to all xx
Wow. What a fantastic afternoon! The ‘Take That Tribute Show’ was nothing short of fantastic. The three lads portraying Gary, Mark and Howard were ultimate professionals and a pleasure to present at the Willows.
For a full 90 minutes they pounded out the hits with the kind of excitement and energy that is rarely seen on stage. They gave it everything and went down a storm! The climax with ‘Never Forget’ sent shivers down the spine. The atmosphere they created was just like the best New Year’s Eve party.
We had quite a few first timers in on Friday and seeing a group of young ladies doing one of the boys old dance routines was fab.
Thank you Mike, Ollie and Aaron. You were superb!
To finish the afternoon, it was a real pleasure for the two of us (Hutch & Claire) to perform the dance spot for you. A packed dance floor - and we had made the dance floor bigger, which we know many of you gratefully appreciated.
The next afternoon is on Friday, 26th April, when we present a tribute to Michael Bubble plus dancing to Leah. The tickets are selling very well. At this moment there are only 50 left.
Bank Holiday weekend, Friday evening, 24th May, we have from the West End, WESTZONE. This Show is heading for an early sell out, so please buy your tickets soon.

Mick and Terry are true gentlemen and consummate professionals, gracing our stage with their warmth and talent, leaving an indelible mark on our afternoon.
From the opening chords of 'Wake Up Little Susie' to the bittersweet strains of 'Cathy's Clown,' and the infectious energy of 'The Price of Love,' every note resonated with authenticity. There were no gimmicks, no overpowering volume —just a faithful homage to a bygone era that still manages to send shivers down your spine.
The Everly Brothers. Don and Phil Everly. Legends whose music influenced a generation and is still inspiring youngsters today. Their harmonies, their melodies, their timeless classics inspired icons like the Beatles and the Hollies, making Don and Phil the most successful musical siblings of all time.
We didn't have Don and Phil, but Mick and Terry, who flawlessly reproduced the spirit of the Everly Brothers in their fab show. As brothers themselves, Mick and Terry channeled the essence of their heroes, delivering hit after hit with precision and passion, in a way siblings can do best.

They were followed by the local legend, Doctor Jive, who kept the music flowing with his impeccable renditions of classics from a wonderful nostalgic era.
Though our dance floor wasn't as big as usual, it didn't dampen the spirits of most who came to groove. Occasionally the high demand for some shows necessitates adjustments, and we apologise to those who missed the extra space to bop, but it is sometimes necessary, to guarantee the future of our afternoons, and more importantly the Willows Club. We thank you for your understanding.
As the afternoon wound down, a spontaneous sing-along with Hutch and Doctor Jive capped off the day, though tinged with concern for one of our regulars.
To all who attended the show we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your consideration and enthusiasm made it a full house worth remembering. Until next time, let the music play on.
Love to all,

I just had
Life's not worth a damn
'Til you can say, I am what I am.....
We had a fab dance spot from the superb Mike King, and our audience loved him.
Melissa leaving everyone emotionally moved and captivated.
Melissa's performance truly transported us all to a Shirley Bassey concert.
