As well as decorating Beverley Minster with our big trees for their ceremony, we dressed Active+ to the nines for their wedding reception. I love this combination of colours. Our ivory blossom and gorgeous gold lace gave the room such an elegant, classic feel.

Last month we had the pleasure of dressing a wedding at Beverley Minster - and I can't get over how good our blossom trees looked in such a gorgeous setting! 😍

I'd never explored the minster before and what an amazing building it is. I hardly wanted to leave and could have stood and stared at the ornate wood carvings and glasswork for hours.

On Saturday the 13th of July we had the pleasure of providing one of our floral arches for Hull4Heroes' annual charity ball. This event raised an astounding £25,000 to help support local armed forces veterans. It's so nice to see our beautiful blossom backdrop being enjoyed by so many smiling - and very glamourous - guests. It looks like everyone had a fantastic night!

A couple of Mondays back, I got to work on something a bit different - providing one of our foliage arches to welcome people into an Earth Day event at Hull's own Reckitt. It sounds like it was a great day full of talks and nature-friendly tips. It was fab to see attendees leaving with plants to attract bees and butterflies to their gardens. Plus, being given these cute Earth Day cupcakes to take away afterwards was a lovely - and very tasty - treat! 😁🧁

💍 Happy first anniversary to my mum and stepdad! 💍

Currently enjoying some sunshine overseas on a special anniversary holiday, my folks married at Minerva Masonic Hall a year ago today. I had the great pleasure of being both my mum’s maid of honour and being a witness to their marriage. Putting my scribble on the wedding certificate and helping to make it official was such a pleasure - and after 12 years together and very much in love, it was about time these crazy kids tied the blummin’ knot! 😉

Their venue dressing was my wedding gift to them and it really meant a lot to me to be able to take care of everything and give them a setting for their big day just as special as they are.

My mum’s initial idea for the day was something light and delicate with a classic feel to it, so we went for ivory lace and lots of blossom. Yellow roses are very special to my family. We’ve had a yellow rose bush running through the family for several generations now, with my mum and her siblings having taken cuttings from a rose that was originally owned by their own mum, my nana - who I sadly never got to meet but by all accounts was a wonderful woman. We incorporated yellow roses into the wedding as a sunny little burst of colour in her memory. I worked them into the top table flowers, added a yellow rose motif to the place cards - and then all that remained was for me to don a yellow dress to match! 😅🌼

I hope you enjoy the photos of my folks' décor, as well as a few of our family’s very happy time together. It really was a fabulous day, laid back and chock full of love and laughter. 😊💛

On Saturday we had the absolute pleasure of creating this room full of beautiful blossom at The Triton Inn. With just one week to go until the big day when the groom got in touch, it was all systems go on the planning front and I absolutely LOVED it - almost as much as I loved the end result! 🩷

Our dressing at Riverlands this weekend.

Barn #2 - the reception barn:
A darker palette with luxury black linens and lots of candlelight. Our foliage wall and arch made a striking focal point of the happy couple's top table; and our LOVE letters added to the barn's soft glow. It might have been a stormy night outside, but we made sure that inside everything felt cosy and warm!

This week has been a very busy one but also very satisfying. I've thoroughly enjoyed the two weddings we've worked on. That one of those weddings is for my stepsister and her lovely fiancé just makes everything that bit extra special. I'm very much looking forward to getting my gladrags on tomorrow and celebrating with family. 😊 It's going to be a great day!

Our blossom trees are enjoying a trip out somewhere a little different this weekend. Sophisticated Shindigs are happy to have been part of Lexus Hull's launch event for their new electric vehicle. It was pretty cool chatting about EV technology while doing this showroom setup - and admiring some seriously stunning cars! 🤩

After you're all done tying the knot, eating, drinking and being merry it's time for us to collect, check and clean everything so we're all squared away and sorted for our next set of events. SERVICE UPDATE

Hi everyone,

After a bit of a manic time full of medical appointments, I’ll be heading into hospital this weekend for a surgery I’ve been very much in need of for several years now. I will be laid up for a while afterwards but will be back to work as soon as I can. I’ll be moving from bedrest to admin, to supervising out on site, and then back to being properly hands-on as soon as I can. I’m having to suspend in-person consultations for the time being but again, I’ll have those back up and running again as soon as I can. In the meantime arrangements have been made for my team to take care of the more physical work for me, and everything is in order for your special days.
