Here is the provisional programme for Remote Cinema in Kirkby Stephen this autumn. Screening dates are confirmed. We are just waiting for confirmation of the films, but don't foresee any problems.

Brightening up the high street this afternoon with flags made by the community … part of the Drawing Hope project by the brilliant artist Ursula Hurst.

Thank you to all the children at Kirkby Stephen, Brough and Warcop primary, Kirkby Stephen Scout Group, Kirkby Stephen Youth Centre, Upper Eden Day Care and everyone else who joined drop in workshops to help us create these wonderful flags.

Unusually, we have a number of places available for our summer plays days - it’s FREE and runs on Wed 31 July, Thu 1 Aug and Fri 2 Aug 10am to 3pm at Jubilee Park, Kirkby Stephen. For ages 7-12yrs (parents do not attend).

If you’d like to book a place please send us a message with your email address and the name and age of the child/ren you want to book for.

Collaborating is a massive part of our values at Stomping Ground CIC, and one of our longest collaborations is with Kirkby Stephen Community Arts, we love working together and dreaming up plans with Kirkby Stephen Community Arts

This summer we will be back at Jubilee Park, Kirkby Stephen for our Wild Play Days project for the fourth year! Thanks to funding from Cumbria Community Foundation and Kirkby Stephen Community Arts

We’re delighted to be part of The Westmorland Dales Festival next weekend- not only will the brilliant Stomping Ground be at Frank’s Bridge with their brilliant nature crafts but you can design & make your own flag with local artist/illustrator Ursula Hurst at Kirkby Stephen Sports & Social Club from 11am-3pm, Sat 27 July.

Your flags will join an installation showing people’s hopes & dreams for their community, part of Ursula’s Drawing Hope project. No need to book and all ages welcome.

If any of your children have joined Stomping Ground’s summer play days in Jubilee Park over the last three years, we’d love to know what you or they think they’ve got out of them … we’d like to run more of them, but we want to know if you’d like that too!

We are really hoping to come back to Jubilee Park in Kirkby Stephen for summer playdays. If your children have attended anytime in the last 3 years we'd love to hear about what they have got from it.

Along with our community groups and artist Ursula Hurst, we are delighted that Daffy Dill Entertainment will be joining us at the Fun Palace today. She's a Bubbleologist (yes that is a thing!) extraordinaire, and always a hit with kids both young and old.
