🌲Friday 13th, 13th Supper Club and 13 Guests..! What are the chances of that ?

💓It was a lovely, festive night and , dare I say , heart- warming evening full of the noise of crackers being pulled, wine being poured and laughter then everyone sang along with Darren. ....My dream dinner party!

The Menu:

Canapés:
Stilton, Pear and Honey Oatcake
Brussel Sprouts Quesadilla
Creamy Smoked Haddock Potatoes

Mains:
Duck Legs confit with roast Cherry and Plum sauce, Parsnip mash, veggie madness

Pud:
Cranberry and Almond Panettone Trifle

Petit Fours:
Chocolate 'Bark' and frozen Grapes

🎇We have thoroughly enjoyed our whole supper club concept and look forward to more next year.

We have a couple of spaces available on our next available supper clubs (24/25th January) and there was talks of somebody called Burns ???? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Who knows....menu always secret up until the very last minute...👊. DM for booking/more info.

Here we go folks, round two of our KT@Home. Our monthly fill your fridge and freezer saviour!

🌿 Double Dips - choice of two- why not create a picky plate at home, great additions to a cheeseboard...
- Roast Pepper & Walnut (a middle eastern gently spiced and addictive dip!) or our Spinach & Cashew 'Pesto' (both vegan)

- Winter Minestrone - customer favourite, packed with veggies herbs and beans this will balance and comfort you ...add some cheese when eating at home..Delish! (Vegan)

Cheerio November, hello December!

Our November Double Supper Clubs went with a Scottish twist and the first fishy main of the year!

We ate canapés of :
- Fresh oatcakes with potted hough and sticky onions (or garlicky mushrooms, cream cheese and sticky onions and crispy kale)
- Shots of spicy roasted nuts and seeds
- Haggis , sweet chilli and cheddar Toastie bites !

Then ;

Dijon and Turmeric Salmon (or depending on night a veggie alternative!)
Roasted Root veggie lentil and rice pilaf with citrus-y salsa verde
'KT' Greens

Followed by:

Mulled fruit and nut with oaty crumble & vanilla cream

Then coffee with raspberry and white chocolate tablet!

Lush. Full bellies. Music by Darren topped it all off ❤️

Our next available bookable supper club is now January 24th and 25th X X

Hello Christmas Gift alert!

Get ready to wow your guests this Christmas with our Christmas Canapé Cookery Classes! (Try saying that three times !)

We will have two classes - Wednesday 4th December 2-4pm and Sunday 8th December 2-4pm. £45 per person.

Join us for a fun, hands-on two-hour session where you'll learn how to create the most delicious, festive bite-sized treats to impress your friends and family.

Sam will demo and cook with you and offer tips, tricks and banter on how you can create cheeky nibbles from scratch using store cupboard and rogue ingredients and different ideas on how to present them.

We provide the ingredients and you will prep and eat all you make, (sweet and savoury!) so come hungry !

KT@Home November Menu. ...

Bolster your fridge and freezer once a month with some of our goodies!

We are trialling all of this so this month our date is Friday 22nd November for collection and delivery. Please order and pay by Monday 18th November.

MULTIPURPOSE DIP: our ‘PESTO’ - Spinach and Cashew (VG + NGA)
Popeye green and delicious as is, spread on toast, fingers or obvs with pasta but just as delish splodged on grilled veggies or blanched green beans. (£7 per jar)

HANDY AF DAHL: customer fave Sweet Potato and Coconut (VG + NGA)
Granted it’s not overly sexy BUT this baby comes into its own when it’s cold out and you need some immediate comfort. Gently spiced with chunks of sweet potatoes, all you need is a spoon! (£7 small tray)

LASAGNE:
Meaty: long and slow beef mince cooked in trad-ish recipe with the KT twist of a handful of lentils, plenty of veg and one layer of garlicky spinach. Cheese sauce is the same sauce used in our macaroni cheese so it's a straight up cream and cheese festival. (£9 small tray/ £25 large tray )
OR
Veggie – all the veg mash-up: layers of roasted veggies in a lentil and mushroom tomato ragu, layers of cheese sauce and layers of spinach and ricotta all finished with lasagne sheets (can be vegan on request). (£8 small £24 large tray)

SALAD:
‘Greens OTT’ with chickpeas: as many green veggies as we can ram in the ovens (think sprouts, courgettes, kale), roasted in garlic spices and a hunk of fresh lemon then lobbed with light green herbs and our dijon vinaigrette. (£7 large tub, enough for two hearty portions)

PUDS:
Mulled Pear and Plum Crumble with oaty hazelnut topping: cliché classic but a hell of a pimp up, with a wee boozy waft in the pears. (£7 per tray for two)
OR
Brownie: berry and white chocolate- for the chocolate lovers – hard core decadent chocolate and berries with chunks and dribbles of sweet vanilla to balance.
(two generous portions £7)

KT News!

Hello folks, it has been a year since we got our lovely space. With all the graft, banter, slicing and laughter we have decided to move onto the next phase of The Kitchen Treasury's story.

Firstly, our cafe will no longer be operating as a cafe as of now. It has been an incredible experience and has been a lifelong dream achieved thanks to the hard graft of friends and my small wee family.

🍽️Secondly, we are delighted with our Supper Clubs and feel that we can develop these evenings over time. We have been taking bookings for people who wish to have their own private dining evenings so feel free to get in touch and come and see what we can do for you!
Also, Meg will still be running her KT Book club here in our space.

🏠Thirdly - we will be posting our menu for our KT@Home Meal service tomorrow and can’t wait to see where that takes us. We want to focus on catering for parties or offices or personal foodie requests so do get in touch!

🌲Fourth- ly - We will be hosting two canapé making classes over the festive period with many more in- house KT cookery classes ideas in the pipeline. Dates and details will be in a separate post coming up this week !

We hope to see you at one of our events or clubs very soon, thanks for all the support over the past year - Kirkcaldy has a very big heart 💓

October Supper Clubs Weekend complete!

Candles, Turnips and Bob Dylan. The classic trio. We have had a busy and musical weekend with loads of new faces which was incredible. We are enjoying the darker coorier evenings just for the sake of warmer cosier menus ...

We had canapés of : mini olive and feta frittata with plum chutney, spiced popcorn bowls and wee chickpea fritters topped with hummus and beetroot salsa

Mains of: Roast chicken leg in a tomato and pepper sauce, cauliflower cheese with pecans/walnuts, roast lemon and garlic baby potatoes with buttery corn-on-the-cob. (Veggie options - filo pie stuffed with pumpkin blue cheese and walnut)

Dessert : Spiced Orange and Almond cake with fresh orange sauce, warm chocolate sauce

Petit four : our fave Tahini and Almond biscuits

All of this happened to have no gluten added (apart from the veggie tartlet) as we had some guests that had to avoid.

Darren played both nights and even took on requests ❤️🙈

Our November dates are fully booked but we do have a waiting list...and our December supper clubs will be up for grabs soon!. Places must be paid in advance to guarantee a spot. Can't wait! ✌️

🫚It's beginning to look a lot like.....GINGERBREAD!

One of our most popular loafs in KT these are spicy, moist and moreish and can stand up to a strong coffee as well as a hot chocolate. (And red wine too ...btw)

Gingerbread is obviously a bit predictable as we get into the wintery season- my only rogue additions are cardamon (my fave), black pepper and a spoonful of decent cocoa into a treacly-traditional recipe. I like full on spice flavour. No gentle waft here!

Without the icing this is a goodie for a frugal and thoughtful gift, PLUS this will get stickier and more intense the longer it keeps.👍🏻

🎁Years ago I lived in a gross shared flat with an even more revolting kitchen in Edinburgh. One Christmas I made 20 of these in said gross kitchen (yes, I blitzed it first), weeks before Christmas to hand out to friends and family . It took a while as I only had three battered loaf tins and one day off but Xmas sorted!!👊🏻

🧡🧡We will be drizzling with simple white icing using fresh zest and orange juice cos why the hell not.

🎄I have a childhood memory of gingerbread with the green and gold wrapper that my gran would slice and butter thickly. 😋 . Sooo good ....teeth marks in butter 😁

So. ..
We have some new things happening here at ...

Our coffee shop has scratch made unusual cakes, random daily changing menus with soups, dips, salads, rogue mains and our infamous picky plates.

bUT..

We have been getting requests for more...

So we have decided that alongside our monthly supper clubs and book clubs we are going to have a ' fill your fridge/freezer/store cupboard with some of our faves and some of the most multi use items we can think of' 😤but neatly named...KT@home. '

More precise details coming soon but one lovely customer collected 4 different meals today enough for 66 meals ! ..

October holidays!

We have had a fantastic weekend supplying three random roasted salads and cheery chat to the lovely folks of Kirkcaldy.

The Kitchen Treasury will be closed for a few weeks as the kids are off school and we need a little time to chill and brainstorm.

We have some new projects coming up for the winter season involving canapés, fridge fillers and Xmas madness. Cannot wait to share them with you over the next few weeks!

Since earlier this year, Sam has been banging out delicious and exciting food from her cool and homely, wee cafe on Hunter Street in the centre of Kirkcaldy. As well as always having a good selection of vegan cakes and options on the menu (shout out to the ever changing picky plate 🙌), there are monthly supper clubs where you can dine with strangers and friends alike, sharing food and chat.

Sam will be bringing some of her finest vegan creations with her next week and we can't wait to see what she comes up with!
