The Met Club runs business events throughout Yorkshire and the North East. We organise specialist events in the financial, construction and property, and transport and infrastructure industries, as well as more general business networking events and events to communicate about local affairs such as our annual North Powerhouse update event. We run a membership group which gives regular attendees discounts on events, as well as promotion at events and on social media.

Well Gateshead… you were excellent company to be part of again!! 💪

On Friday 7th October Peter Udall spoke at our MET Events Gateshead Council Property, Construction & Infrastructure lunch at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead over scenic views of the River Tyne.

With around 70 attendees it was great networking 🥂

Peter provide an update on The Sage NG and the future of Gateshead to construction, property, transport and infrastructure leaders from across the UK.
There is a lot happening in this region! 🙌

Alex Isted MCIOB from our head sponsors Morgan Sindall Construction announced their new office opening in the region and gave us a great update on on their company’s progress. 💪

Richard Harding picked Alex Lodge name out of the bucket for the champagne draw🍾 🤗👏

Our Leeds City Council Property & Construction Lunch with MET Events was excellent to run in my old home of Leeds.

The networking was in full flow and we almost had a full house of 110 on the guest list 🥂

Our speakers, Martin Farrington and Jane Walne gave us a brilliant presentation on the ever evolving beautiful city! So many changes and so much still to come. 🌳🏘

Kindly head sponsored by Spawforths welcomed us and Adrian Spawforth gave us an insight on the £12 billion projects that they have been involved with over the years…. Yes £12 billion!! 🙌

Michael Hannaway FRICS of Landsurvey Group flew in from Ireland 🇮🇪 especially for the event and to be our associate sponsor and was given a lovely Yorkshire welcome from everyone. 👏

Thank you to all that attended our very busy MET Events Wakefield Council Property and Construction lunch on Wednesday. It’s good to be back! 🙏💪🙌🥂

Jenny Kitchen was our fabulous hostess at the event and was wonderful as always. It was great to see so many people again after two years away from events.

A special thank you to Willmott Dixon and Willmott Dixon Interiors for head sponsoring the lunch and to hear from Jolene McLaren CF APMP about what they are doing in the region and nationally.

We were very fortunate to have Wakefield Council team Mark Lynam & Mike Denby present their plans for the regeneration of Wakefield District Council. They have big plans and we can’t wait to hear about the further progress at the next lunch in the Autumn (date TBC). 🙌

There economic development strategy includes lots of green space to improve public realm, public arts offering as well as development of the Civic Quarter, Tileyard, Trinity, Ridings, Castleford riverside. 🌳

Hosted at the beautiful The Quarry Horbury and the food and service was excellent especially with how busy it was! We love using local venues for our events. Thank you John Horvath for all your help with this. 💪
