Let’s talk wedding favours! Some people love them but more often than not, when we go to clear away the next day there is a pile of favours that have been left behind and it makes us so sad. The best way to stop this and ensure your money isn’t wasted is to decide on favours that you know your guests will use there and then, on the day.

S&O nailed that brief on Saturday when they bought every guest a lottery scratch card. No one can resist seeing if they’re a winner and it will also get all of your guests chatting too. We’re just not really sure what the rules are if someone ACTUALLY wins…😅

Bonus points for S&O too who put their scratch cards in envelopes which muted down the bright colours and ensured they still worked with their colour scheme 🙌🏼

I am a self confessed fan girl of everything Dominique from does so when I was asked to style around one of her masterpieces I was SO excited!!! We framed this incredible cake with blossom trees and subtle pink tapered candles too to elevate the cake table and make a real focal point. All the guests were swooning 😍

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of styling the lovely Olivia & Christus’ special day at Goldsborough Hall✨

We had a huge focus on forest green accents throughout the day from a bow on their cute dogs collar to the vinyl calligraphy on their frosted Perspex place names. I absolutely loved making these to match their table names, seating plan and welcome sign too 🤍

Today’s project was something a little different as I dressed Divine Hairdressing Window for the festive season. Since the clocks changed and the darker nights draw in it really feels like Christmas is loading. I’ve spent the day ordering in candles and stock for the rest of the years weddings and events and may have clicked “add to basket” a few too many times 😅My unit is going to look like santas workshop when it’s all delivered but I’m definitely not complaining. It’s like Sunday dinner but on a Monday! Especially on a rainy day like today, Monday Dinner gives me all the cosy homely vibes that remind me of living back home with my mum. We both led (and still lead) very busy lives but we would always make sure to be home on Mondays for a roast dinner and catch up 🤍

As you may or may not be aware the lovely Amy is due to have a beautiful baby over the next couple of months. We are so thrilled for Amy and her husband, Paul and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness with their new little bundle ❤️

So with that announcement comes a big HELLO! From me, Lydia... with 6 years working in the wedding dress industry and designing stands for events like Harrogate Bridal Show and London Bridal Fashion Week, I can’t wait to work with you all and bring your dream weddings to life!

Amy and I have been working together over the last few months, ensuring no stone is left unturned, in the handover of all your special days. I am so excited to speak to you all and will be in touch soon 📞📩

So, a little bit about me... When I’m not in the world of weddings and events, you can find me renovating our gorgeous little 120 year old home and after a long day of DIY, dancing around the kitchen with Prosecco in hand 🥂

So yesterday would of been a day of mixed emotions... relief for some and disappointment for others but at least we have better guidance to be able to make some informed decisions and put plans into place.. Fingers and toes crossed that the time frame remains the same as outlined last night and normality will resume for the summer 🤞🤞

I just love Danish candles, they look stunning, you can get the most beautiful shades and shapes, they burn evenly and are drip free - unless of course the aircon is on like it was during this shoot!!! Ggrrrhhhh.

So it's Friday again!! It's surprising how quickly the time is going considering everything that's going on!

I have spoken to some really lovely ladies this week but what I have noticed is that everyone is feeling just a little tiresome of the situation we find ourselves in right now... January is a tough month for our wellbeing at the best of times but it has been totally compounded by Covid, lockdown and let's not mention home schooling.... I think I speak for us all and wish that spring would hurry up so we can at least find some enjoyment from warmer weather, flowers blooming and lambs lambing, anything extra would be a bonus!!
