Lamport Hall is a hidden gem in Northamptonshire boasting wonderful gardens, stunning architecture, an impressive art and furniture collection and a full calendar of events. The Hall is Grade I listed and is of great architectural importance, showcasing work by John Webb and Smith of Warwick. From 1560 to 1976, the Hall was home to the Isham family, one of the oldest families in Northamptonshire.

As a result, the collections have remained virtually untouched throughout the centuries providing a captivating snapshot of life in a country house. Come and see the treasures collected by Sir Thomas Isham on his Grand Tour as a newly inherited teenage Baronet, witness the architectural changes made by two feisty wives in the 19th century, and meet Lampy, he first and only surviving garden gnome to be imported from Germany in 1846. Following a period of neglect and misfortune in the 20th century an impressive restoration project was undertaken. Lamport Hall is now back to the former glory it deserves and is just waiting to be explored. The Hall is also a unique setting for weddings and corporate events. Many events are held at the Hall throughout the year including craft and antiques fairs, the Festival of Country Life, study days, and our Gardening Academy. OPENING TIMES 2022

From 6th April to October 27th

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there..."

Tomorrow morning these scenes will be full of festive shoppers, mulled wine sippers, Father Christmas visitors, magical reindeer, stilt walkers, bubble-blowing elves, carol singers and stall holders.

🎄 2 days to go! 🎄

Santa returns to Lamport again this year after a very popular first year with us in 2022. The event is sold out for this year but if you did manage to grab tickets, you're in for a real treat! When you arrive you will be directed left towards the woodland where you will check in for your Grotto experience. You will be invited into the festive bell tents to write your letter to Santa so get those thinking caps on! You will then enter the magical woodland, bedecked with lights. There will be the chance to purchase warm drinks and refreshments before entering the magic light tunnel which will transport you to the North Pole.

Children will get the chance to meet Santa and his elf privately, handing over their letter and getting the opportunity to chat and have a family photo. The woodland then takes you on a festive adventure to the Elf's Workshop where you'll hand in your gift voucher and get to choose your very own toy, handcrafted at the North Pole. There are an array of gifts suitable from birth right up to tweens including soft toys, books, games and wooden toys. Children will also be given a marshmallow on a stick which they can toast over a warm fire. The whole magical experience ends with meeting Santa's real reindeer and a final photo opportunity in Santa's sleigh.

If you missed out on getting tickets to see Santa, you can still enter the woodland to see the lovely lights and reindeer. This is charged at £2.00 per person and can be purchased on the day.

Will you be on the naughty or nice list this year?!

Do we have any followers with an interest in military history?

We've found some uniforms in the Attic belonging to a J A Lear which we believe are WWII. The recurring numbers on the uniforms are N126, 356LT or LX (not sure due to the handwriting) and 5651.

Could anyone help us to decipher the meaning of these and perhaps help us to identity who Lear was and what regiment he was with?
