This is a farewell tribute I made for a gentleman last week - it's not chosen from a catalogue, it's unique and made by us just for him.
The wreath is natural, plastic free and contains seasonal flowering bulbs, perennial plants, foliage including rosemary for remembrance and a few added British flowers. It will last much longer at the graveside than just flowers or it can go on to have a second life by being planted in a loved one's garden.

Therapeutic Wreath Making
It’s coming up to that time of year again where we feel the loss of a loved one the most. We never get over losing our loved ones but try our best to learn to live with the loss. To help with the process of grief we are holding workshops on wreath-making in the next few weeks. Our thoughts are that you may like to join us in creating something in the name of your loved one. Although we understand the workshop may provoke sad memories, our aim is to make the session therapeutic, celebrating by telling each other stories of every day and seasonal traditions which are continued through the telling of family stories and passing down of tales and memories. Your wreath or planted arrangement will carry a story that's personal to you and your family; it could be a memory, a favourite song, special dates or names of family members; a keepsake wreath to display in your home, or as a memorial gift for a friend or loved one. You might leave space to add to it each year and look back on your thoughts as part of a new tradition. Hosted by myself, Liz, and my friend/colleague Sandie. Sandie is an experienced qualified counsellor, coach and holistic therapist with many years of supporting people with grief and loss, both in the NHS and outside. During this 1.5-hour session we will show you, step-by-step, how to create your own wreath and offer you a safe space where you will be able to join like-minded people. It's world bee day today and to celebrate here's a big and beautiful Queen red tailed bumblebee on some gorgeously scented sweet rocket. You can spot she's a Queen by her colouring and how big she is - just under 2.5 cm, the worker bees are about half that size. She will have a nest underground somewhere, probably under the old wall, I'll have to keep a look out!
Bees and other pollinators are declining rapidly and need all the help they can get from us ... And we need them for our own survival too so please help save them. This is one of the reasons we don't use pesticides and weedkillers on the farm and you can see the difference this makes all around 🐝

Way back in November, when we set up our stall for a Christmas market, we had a chance meeting, a chat about wreaths, dried flowers, flower farming and bees with a customer. Unbeknown to us at the time, this was Ben, one of Wolfgang Buttress' team and after a couple more meetings, this led on to the opportunity of a lifetime with a large, bespoke order of dried products that now form part of an amazing exhibition - Bees: a story of survival at the World Museum in Liverpool.
We have been invited to the Private View/world premiere later this week and can't wait to share the pictures with you!
