Thank you so much, on only two weekends so far this month, that’s how much has been theoretically saved from the bin in just tableware alone! Say goodbye to soggy plates and full bin bags! Don’t forget we do the washing up 🛁.

The impact of a throwaway party plate lasts a lot longer than the party.
.
Paper plates can't be recycled after a party as they will have been contaminated by food waste, most of the pretty coloured or character plates aren't recyclable anyway as they have laminate to make them more durable, so they will just end up in landfill which is a load of old rubbish 🗑️
.
It takes around 30 litres of water to create an average paper plate. 😱
.
Finding a reusable alternative whether it be from a party pack, or plates you already have at home or at the venue it's easy to see the environmental benefits. 😁
.
Don't forget if you use a party pack, most of us will wash up for you! 🧽 Hurray another lazy way to save the planet, one small change at a time! 🎂🌍🎂
.
There are compostable plates available, but most of the time these can only be industrially composted, our area does this, but the creation of the plate is still material intensive.
Literal game changer! Reusable pass the parcel. No more time spent finding the end of the sellotape, no more endless wrapping paper rubbish. Two minutes and your ready to party.
Fill the bag with a sweet, or even better a funny action or forfeit for a fun alternative to all those Haribo!
Get in contact to hire our bags, we have a few different designs, and a bonus is they are all made from upcycled fabrics so they are even better for the planet.
A day late...

Seen this and thinking it should be set up as a group?!?
Would be great to start a map 🗺️🌈
So Valentine's Day is here, let's change the story.💚💌
Spend time, not money. Text or call someone you love but haven't spoken to for a while (we all know life gets in the way!)
Let's use it to look after ourselves and not beat ourselves up about what we're not doing and think of all the great things we have done!
In the wise words of John, Paul, George and Ringo, "will you still need it, will it still be here when you're 664!"
Day 3 - 💗🚂 I Choo Choo Choose You - Cards 💌💗
We have to admit that here at Pure Party Central we are suckers for a bit of romance, and a Valentine's Day card can be oh so much fun!
We'll just have a quick look today at a few different options which will reduce your footprint a tiny bit.
💚✂️ Make your own 🎨💚
We're sure you have a few bits and bobs lying around that you can use to make a lovely card, you can even use old newspaper and cut hearts out, like the picture, we did this to make wedding bunting it's really quick and effective.
Obviously you can get a lot more personal and either be really heartfelt and sentimental, or use a really great pun!
Get the kids involved too! I'm sure you can have a lot of fun coming up with something, potato printing anyone?
💚👛Buy Better 👛💚
@HannahMarchant_Illustrates has some fabulous plantable seed cards, complete with her beautiful illustrations including a Bee Mine card! (bee)
Look for cards without packaging, a few places have started to stock some, you can find a selection online at @wearthlondon and @roseanddaff
@Berylune in Leamington Spa have been busy bees making some fantastic cards recycled from Pride and Prejudice books, go get one quick before they're all gone.
Charity shops have loads of cards available if you have the time to pop and have a rummage!
💚💌Small Change - Big Impact💌💚
Most importantly look for cards without glitter, foil or any shimmery embellishments, we hate that as we are total magpies, but the pesky stuff just gets everywhere (🥺). (Obviously there is such a thing as eco glitter🥳).
💚😲Don't buy a card!😲💚
Think before you buy, that's all. Could you do something creative and unexpected, make a fun gif or your own, hide notes like a treasure hunt (our personal fave), again you can get the kids involved to make it fun/
💚🐾🎧💚
In the words of East 17,
'Everybody in the house of love, one love, one card, ever
Ok, day 2
Fluffy heart shaped box of chocolates right... let's rethink.
So chocolate delicious chocolate, it's a fairly problematic area, but we're going to focus for now on how we can eat better chocolate, guilt free for people and the planet (we'll just ignore the calories, we heard chocolate is good for your mental health so we're sticking with that!)
Again, throw in any ideas you have, we're by no means experts in this.
So, there are plenty of companies out there doing chocolate better, lucky us. Whether it be the sustainability and ethical side of things you're interested in, packaging or supporting local small businesses, I've tried to showcase companies who are making the changes.
💚🌱 Cenu 🌱💚
We're super lucky here in Leamington Spa as we have "Cenu" a bean to bar chocolatier, and as we see taken from their website "The journey that our chocolate takes begins in Venezuela and Panama, where our single-origin, fully-certified, organic cacao beans directly originate", they start at the origin to make sure their chocolate is both delicious and guilt free! They have so much on offer from bars to hot chocolate to satisfy any chocaholic, and in their beautiful shop at Lantern Corner you can see the whole magical process.
They also have a truffle making evening on the big day itself, which includes a vegan option! Message them directly to book.
💚🌱Blue Basil Brownies🌱💚
Another local favourite, you can order a special Valentine's Brownie Box from them until 10am on the 13th for delivery or collection from their lovely cafe. All in cardboard - no pesky plastic.
💚🌱Core🌱💚
For some tasty packaging free treats head down to Core on Park Street in Leamington, fill an empty jar and add a bit of twine or ribbon and you have a lovely, thoughtful gift, you could even make a mixed jar if you wanted to. (weigh each item separately first though!) They also stock "Play In" a fun treat and plastic free toy!
💚🌱 Chocolate companies
So I wasn't sure whether to do this guide as I don't want to come off as preachy, but...
We love a celebration as much as the next person, so we spend a lot of time trying to find sustainable alternatives, we thought we would share some of our ideas and information.
If you have anything to add, would be great to find out more about the fantastic initiatives that are out there.
We'll start this off with 🌹 roses 🌹as they are so ubiquitous.
Here's some alternatives to show your loved ones you care (and give the planet a little hug at the same time! 💚🤗💗)
💚🌳Plant a tree 🌳💚
There are lots of UK organisations who will plant trees where they are needed, www.treedom.net have some excellent valentine's packages to make your gift extra special, with nationalforest.org you could even make a date out of it on a tree planting day and www.treesforcities.org plants trees where they are needed all over the world.
You can of course plant one (or even a rose bush🌹) in your own garden with your loved ones - just make sure it's native!
💚💐 Living Bouquet 💐💚
What is that I hear you ask?! You can sponsor an area of wildflower meadow, why send a bunch of flowers when you could send a whole wildflower meadow? EarthTrust.org or www.MakeitWild.co.uk amongst others offer the ability to sponsor a wildflower meadow. Or more locally you can visit Warwickshire wildlife trust to find your local wildflower meadow to visit and make a donation!
💚🌼 Buy seasonal, local flowers🌻💚
"Flowers from the farm" has a great list of local flower growers for a lower impact!
💚🌹Buy Roses 🌹💚
Have a look at this excellent article on how best to buy roses.

💚💗🌍Small Changes - Big Impact 🌍💗💚
Even if you speak to your local florist about where their flowers are from, whether they buy fair trade or
