P.S Don’t forget to tag me in your pics- I love to see your creations !
Fellow real tree peeps! This one if for you.
Are you good at remembering that your tree needs a daily drink too?
Prolong the life of your tree with these simple steps:
1. Cut an inch off the bottom (if you buy it from a local business they will normally do this for you!)
2. If you have time, let it sit in a bucket of water and have a good drink before you put it up (not a necessary step, but it does help)
3. Once it’s up, don’t forget to add water to the stand every few days, (you’ll be amazed at how quickly it needs topping up)
4. If you have the option, place your tree away from heat and fires (I say this, but ours always goes in our bay window living room (which is little/ cosy) with the fire blasting every night ! So I understand that this one of often a compromise and the location is non negotiable 🤣🙌
Are you good at remembering that your tree needs water? Are you glad to have seen this reminder ? Or have you turned to the dark side with a faux tree ?
Have a lovely weekend everyone🥰

Did you know that Daffodils stems release a sap that is poisonous to some other flowers?
You shouldn’t put them in the same vase as other flowers. (Especially roses & tulips!)
If you DO need to mix them, you can try the following tricks.....but remember the blooms will not last as long as normal!
1) Add a small amount of water to a vase, along with some flower food (eg bleach & sugar)
2) Cut the stems & place the daffodils in the shallow water for at least 24 hrs
3) They have now been “treated” & can be mixed with other flowers
BUT....Don’t re cut the stems, as this will release more of the toxins!
Hands up who didn’t know this? 👇👇

💕HAPPY LOVE DAY EVERYONE 💕
I’d love to know your thoughts on red roses?
Don’t get me wrong, a deep burgundy rose in a winter arrangement is DEFINITELY a bit of me.
But red roses for V/G Day is just not my vibe.
Partly the fact that roses are not a UK seasonal flower at this time of year, but also just a bit too cliche for me! (Hence the picture of me with a big old bunch of red tulips. 🌷)
There’s no harm if red roses are your thing and you love it… we are all different and that’s what makes life so special!
But I’d love to know … Do you love the red roses? Hate them? Or impartial? 🌹👇

Weekend Reset
After a gorgeous weekend with my besties in Marlow… I’m finally changing out the Christmas baubles 🫣🤣 I didn’t have time to restyle my bath shelf and change it up properly, BUT it already feels so much nicer! 🥰
I simply can’t wait to get an hour to myself in the bath tonight ❤️ (Who am I kidding with one hour… it’ll be more like 2-3 hours 😜🤣)
Does anyone else continually top up their bath with hot water until they have turned into prunes!? 🫣

Whilst floristry is said to be one of the happiest professions, it brings SO much joy to not only you as the florist but your customers too! It has given me a freedom lifestyle that I always dreamt of🤩…
HOWEVER
I’m not going to pretend it’s always just playing with flowers all day though! There is some hard work involved too 😉
The side of event floristry you won’t often see is:
🏋️♀️Lots of carrying! Never to be underestimated quite how much “stuff” needs to be loaded, unloaded, put in place, derigged…
☀️🌒 Working long hours - don’t get me wrong, this isn’t ALL the time. It’s just for certain events and seasons, but when it’s long hours, it really is!
✂️💦Conditioning flowers - there is lots of prep involved
🧹Cleaning - your industrial hoover will become your best mate 😆
💅🏻Hands/ nails: You’ll have a fantastic “Florist manicure”🤣 Top tip: Buy some decent hand cream!
🍫Snacks : If you are anything like me… you need to make sure there’s no hangriness going on, so snacks available at all times. And a full fat coke always gives me the energy I need.
💒You’ll work ANYWHERE before an event. If your venue isn’t open yet but you’ve got work to do… We have worked in many a sheds!
But I honestly wouldn’t change a thing!
If this doesn’t put you off and you are ready to pursue your dreams of becoming a florist, or you have started your business and need a helping hand to get it off the ground, head to the link in bio to check out our start a floristry business course, our students are calling this course a “gamechanger”!
Thank you @louise.wildwreaths for this lovely review on our “start a floristry business” online course. 🤩🙏
Your reviews really do mean EVERYTHING and hearing how much of a positive impact our courses have on your lives and businesses just fills my heart with joy. 🥰
Louise knew she wanted to monetise one of her hobbies, (but didn’t know whether that would be sewing or flowers). Whilst the course is especially made for flower based businesses, there are LOTS of elements in there which are relevant to all start up creative businesses, so she took the plunge and enrolled in September.
Louise was so inspired by the course that she set up her wreath workshop business almost immediately (over in America!)
After a successful Christmas, Louise is looking forward to planning her 2023 and I can’t wait to follow her journey too.
Her favourite things about the course were all of the templates and spreadsheets as well as the fact she could do it in her own time (all the way over in America!)
If you’d like to turn your dream into a reality, or monetise your hobby too, please do check out our floristry business masterclass.

🌸 JOY IN JAN! 🌸
January is notoriously the most depressing month.
So bring extra joy to your home with flowers and plants… this is a super simple idea using daffodils and brings you INSTANT joy!
Let me know what you think! ❤️

P.S Thanks so much for the love on the stories…. I’m fine, just a sore throat and tinnitus again! (I had a throat infection after Christmas).
Everyone seems to be getting ill constantly at the moment, don’t they!? Any tips for tinnitus are gratefully received… I hate it !! 🫣🔔👂
It’s very rainy and miserable here in Leamington this morning! 👎☔️
But I wanted to hear your opinions on carnations ….. They are not very popular & disliked by MANY😅
I didn’t used to be a fan of them at all, but the last year or so, they are really growing on me! 😅 Their ruffles can look really cute (and quite dahlia like)! I have a feeling carnations are going to make a bit of a comeback in the coming years! 🤩(You heard it here first! 😉❤️)
I want to know what you think though! Are you a:
LOVER ❤️👍
or a
HATER🙅♀️👎

Small business life is very much like a rollercoaster, there are highs and lows (and there’s a lot in the middle too).
Thankfully so far, my highs have always FAR out weigh the lows. My lowest low would definitely be back in lockdown when we had to pivot OVERNIGHT . We had to go from teaching 200 people (in person) to making and creating 200 wreath kits within one week. 😅 But we dug deep and we did it and actually one of my highest highs was successfully sending that last box off to a happy customer!
WEIRD: Does anyone else ever feel weird to call it your “job”? I think monetising your passion makes it feel odd to say it’s a “job”. Don’t get me wrong, there’s elements of my business that don’t make my heart sing… (hello accounts, admin and website updates 🤮) but the freedom to create, evolve and adapt is something I thrive on!
MESSY: Not sure whether I should admit this… I wish I could say I was naturally tidy. I’m not. I LIKE things to be tidy, but I’m a messy creative at heart. Anyone else!? 😅
COMPLICATED: Wow have I learnt lots of lessons over the years, some lessons I’ve learnt the long & hard way. But I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning- I love absorbing as much knowledge as I possibly can 🤓
SAD: I’m not sure I feel this one to be honest… in fact, I remember when I was employed , I felt this. I felt like my life was lacking, that I hadn’t found my purpose and that I wasn’t doing what I was meant to be doing with my life.
It’s truly WONDERFUL to be following a passion and staying true to my mission “to spread botanical joy”.
My customers are ….AMAZING . Genuinely very grateful to have the best customers! I hear of other business owners dealing with “nightmare clients” but I haven’t come across this. Thank you all for being the best!
Watching back this snapshot of some highlights of business life reconfirms that my small business life is indeed ….
⚡️EPIC⚡️
If you’ve drea
Controversial topic here… but I have a huge love/ hate relationship with Gypsophila (AKA Gyp or Baby’s breath)
It can look INSANELY beautiful, (think fluffy clouds or simple bud vases along tables) 🥰
BUT it can also look very naff (think cheap gyp and roses combos you can pick up from the local garage). 🫣
I think it looks like a real statement when it’s used just on its own & utterly divine. It CAN be used with other flowers, but very much with caution. ✋
The only time I think it works well with other flowers is when it’s used SPARINGLY as a “filler” flower, with room for it to spread (not bunched up together).
Otherwise as a GENERAL rule, I tend to steer clear (unless it’s on it’s own)!
How about you…
Do you love it ? ❤️
Hate it? ❌
Or do you think it has it’s place too? 🤔

Creating a blush floral arch of dreams !
Here’s some pictures of the beautiful bride & groom underneath the archway at their rehearsal dinner. 🥰That dress though 😍🔥❤️
Please excuse my “dragged through a hedge backwards” kinda hair vibe 🙃😆
