The Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition competition is now open! The entry form can be downloaded from our website www.midlandsmodelengineering.co.uk

If you would like to enter your model into the display categories and not the competition please use the same form but tick the display box.

Entries to the competition and display get a 2-day pass to the exhibition. Competition entries will be judged on the Thursday and prizes will be awarded on the Sunday.

We are excited to welcome Halesfield TMD for the first time to the Midlands Garden Rail Show in March!

Halesfield TMD is an O Gauge fictional depot created in 2024. Starting with the steam loco shed and the goods exchange sidings, then moving on to the BR diesel depot extension. From steam to diesel, there really is something for everyone.

8 Weeks to go!

The 2025 Midlands Garden Rail Show, taking place on Saturday, 1st and Sunday, 2nd March, is set to be a premier event for enthusiasts of garden railways. Recognised as one of the top shows dedicated to larger gauge model railways, this event will feature a range of gauges, including O Gauge, G Scale, Gauge 1, 16mm, and more.

With over 15 layouts and clubs showcasing their work, visitors can find plenty of inspiration, whether you're planning to build your own garden railway, or have an interest in live steam, gas-powered, or coal-fired models. The event offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts, discover new ideas, and explore a variety of garden railway setups.

In addition to the impressive range of layouts and clubs, the show will feature over 30 leading suppliers. These suppliers will be on hand to help you bring your dream garden railway to life. They will offer a wide selection of products, including locomotives, rolling stock, track, and accessories. Whether you're just starting out or looking to expand your collection, the show will provide a fantastic opportunity to purchase everything you need to create the perfect garden railway.

What a fantastic 4 days that was! The Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition was a huge success. Thank you to all the clubs, societies, specialist suppliers, steamers and competition entrants for making the show possible. Also thank you to all the visitors who attended the show, we do hope you enjoyed yourself!

Association of Helicopter Aerosports - AHA is at the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition doing flying demonstrations! They also have a simulator on their stand where you can have a go at flying one of the helicopters!

The Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition is only 1 week away!

We are looking forward to welcoming Dave Fisher who is 2006 / 2008 F3C National Champion. A member of Great Britain's F3N team since 2015 who won gold at this year’s European Championships and silver at last year’s World Championships.

Dave will be with us on Sunday 20th October demonstrating his flying skills as part of the Association of Helicopter Aerosports - AHA flying demonstrations. Weather permitting.

Just THREE weeks to go until THE MIDLANDS MODEL ENGINEERING EXHIBITION

We look forward to welcoming you to the UK’s largest model engineering exhibition.
There will be eight new clubs at this year’s exhibition including Association of Helicopter Aerosports - AHA Eastleigh Young Engineers, Echills Wood Railway Harlington Locomotive Society Model Engine Makers, Northampton Society of Model Engineers The Nottingham Society Of Model And Experimental Engineers Ltd and Warwick Rail bringing the total to 33 clubs and societies exhibiting hundreds of models throughout the show.

The Society of Model and Experimental Engineers will be presenting practical workshops and demonstrations as well as a range of their famous models on display and a chance to meet the members and learn about their training courses, programme of meetings and membership.

Following the successful and well attended talks at last year’s exhibition, Model Engineers Workshop is pleased to host the talks at the exhibition again. This will include talks by Mark Noel, Bob Reeves, Noel Shelley and more! To see the full programme click here.
