I'm a Regional Finalist for The Wedding Industry Awards 2025!

Little did I realise that shortly after I posted about being in the awards I would receive an email confirming that I am a finalist! I am so super chuffed and excited to go along to the awards evening in late November.
Obviously it would be absolutely amazing to win, however, I am excited to go along and meet lots of wonderful industry people whilst have a fabulous evening regardless of the outcome.

I'm in The 2025 Wedding Industry Awards!

Thank you so much to all my wonderful couples who have voted for me and given me such amazing reviews. I now have to play the waiting game to see if I become a finalist and get to go along to the award ceremony 🤞

Obviously it would be amazing to win, however, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of votes from my couples and the positive feedback I have received from them and their guests that it is so exciting to even be in with a chance.

The script is written and printed, the certificate is safely tucked in my folder, the reading booklets are ready, and the music playlists are all set. 🎶 Now, it’s time for one of my favourite parts: practice, practice, practice! 🎤💍

I have a friend trying to help a couple out with a newborn and registry etc but things are proving more difficult than they should be due to needing interpreters. Please let me know if you can help or know someone there, thanks 😊

This is a subject that comes up a lot. Let me firstly state that in England, at the time of writing, Celebrants can not currently legally marry anyone. However, there is a Marriage Law Reform going through parliament, which Celebrants are hoping will change this fact.

However, you do not need to have a Registrar on your wedding day. Let me explain, a lot of couples are now choosing to have a “2-by-2” ceremony at the registry office, this means the couple and two witnesses go to the registry office for a short ceremony to do the legal part of the marriage (often referred to colloquially as the “wedmin”). Most of these couples use this as a great excuse for an extra celebration and they go out for a meal afterwards with their witnesses. This can be done anytime before or after their Celebrant-led ceremony.

I am super lucky to be able to call Lee-on-the-Solent my hometown these days. Growing up nearby we would regularly visit and there are two café/ice-cream places pretty much next to each other, The Bluebird and The Penguin.

Both of these places have a brilliant array of ice-creams and other food and drink options. However, as a kid I was loyal to the Bluebird (now I'm an ice-cream fl**zy and there are more ice-cream places locally now too). They still often get my custom as they are the only place I am aware of that make the Mr Whippy Rainbow ice-cream!

No, this is not an advert and I am no way affiliated with any café or ice-cream place. I have had friends visit and they have mentioned how awesome this was and that I should share it on my Instagram 😂🍦

😎🔆What have your summer holidays looked like?🌞🏖️
Where are you going/ have you been?

We went to the Isle of Wight for a little 4 day/ 3 night stay.
We stayed at an Airbnb in Sandown and managed to fit a lot of activities into the trip!
I don't have many photos (I am not keen on putting pics of my kids on my socials), here's a few pics.

If you are interested in visiting the Isle of Wight I can recommend the below (see links below):

Blackgang Chine - A fab, family day out with someone for everyone. Blackgang Chine- Land of Imagination
Wight Coast Fossils - Fossil hunting trip at Compton Bay, amazing and informative tour. Wight Coast Fossils
Butterfly World - Beautiful butterflies and reptiles etc. Very humid, obviously, so the littles did complain a bit.
Sandown beach - Nice sandy beach with a pier and small high-street nearby.
Dinosaur Isle - Amazing Dinosaur museum, fantastic fossils and bones, you can even control an animatronic dino!
Isle of Wight Needles - Loads of great tourist attractions there, rides, shops, sweet shop with demonstration etc.
Donkey Sanctuary - If you love donkeys, this is the place for you! They have a huge amount of donkeys that they have rescued and are now looking after. It's free and relies on donations, but they do not pressure you loads to donate.

There are still plenty of trips and activities we have added to our list for our next visit.
