A super personal post from me today.

As many of you know, we had what I can only describe as traumatic birth and period in hospital post birth with our second daughter. Yes, she was 6 weeks premature but actually the building itself played a big part in the trauma caused. The care for myself and the care for my premature daughter was in different units and some distance from one another meaning we were apart for significantly more time than it needed to be. Not to mention the additional stress it caused my husband to be in separate units. The experience was horrendous and still something I have flashbacks for 18months post partum.

My understanding is this new unit would bring all care around maternity and baby care closer together and I am hugely in support of this. The consultation is open and they need support to get financial backing. Please if you can sign and support, distribute and share the information. There are approximately 700 births in Leeds every months. There are lots of us able to sign this and support the new, up to date facilities our family and children need and deserve.

We won’t be having another child but if this gets the backing it will fundamentally change the experience that other families have moving forward. I know from the work I do that many of your own lived experiences were traumatic but I also know how amazing some births can be (our first as an example). Please, together, let’s make the latter more prevalent.

To celebrate the ice clearing tomorrow, (I’m optimistic the temperature is going to rise enough - come on sunshine ☀️) we’re doing a giveaway. The snow has made a trickier start to 2025 for most of us so let’s throw some fun at 2025 and go again!

Comment below which Mixed age class you’d like to attend tomorrow. Our mixed age classes are best suited from sitting onwards but all welcome.

We’ll pick 5 winners for 9.30am and 5 winners for 10.30am at 7am - we’ll message you on here so be sure to follow us so you don’t miss the notification if it’s you. If less than 5 for each session enter all those who entered will be given a FREE place. Ticket is not transferable and must be used on Tuesday 14th January. No money transfer given. Not affliated with META in any way.

Here’s our timetable from Jan until 16th February *

Some classes have just one or two spots left before they are full. Grab your place for this half term and book now.

If you’re new to Moo, give us a message anytime and we’ll organise you a PAYG trial so you can see if you love us.

If you are wanting to join us for cafe and play, you’re safe to attend every week day between 12.30 and 3pm. Some days inside play is available much earlier, please check for purple times at the bottom of each day. Entry is just £3 per child when you make a purchase from the cafe. Please no packed lunches.

Please note, the sensory room is not a led session. The room is full of lights and fun for the babies to enjoy and you explore with your baby (non walkers only please)

Here’s a quick 1-12 of ideas you could use today, any to add?

📸 1 and 2 - build an igloo
📸 3 - make snow angels
📸 4 - clear a path
📸 5 - go sledging
📸 6 - use Mr Potato head for snow faces
📸 7 - build a snowman (or Maggie moo like we did!)
📸 8 - create footprints in the snow
📸 9 - Mix paint/food colouring with water and make snow pictures
📸 10 - make a target and practice your throwing

We have made the difficult decision to close today. Sorry if you were planning to visit us ❄️. Our final Drop in Saturday cafe and play of the year will be next weekend before we commence our Christmas Specials in December where the cafe is shut to drop ins.
