Every now and then a couple comes along that moves you… both emotionally and creatively.

In the short time I got to know H&D, I learned their love story, the serendipitous circumstance of their meeting, and the light and shade of their beautiful personalities that made them so incredibly perfect for each other.

David, originally from the UK, had taken an opportunity to move with his job to the US on a short-term basis, after a difficult period. Before he was due to return, Covid hit, grounding all flights and placing him in lockdown. In the tough months that followed, David met Haley – a soul whose light shines so brightly, it is hard to ignore – he had found is heart and home in the US.

Together, we weaved the tapestry of their love story and intricacies of their personalities into the design of their day.

I will be forever grateful for the collaboration and creative licence to push our boundaries and design something that is uniquely you. For David & Haley, with love 🤍

Top tips for wedding tables…

One of my favourite spaces to design for is the wedding breakfast or wedding dinner. This is an opportunity to treat your most loved people to a considered and beautifully designed tablescape.

The joy I see from couples and guests delighting in a well-designed together table is honestly, euphoric!

This year we have worked on some incredible tablescapes, including floating aerial florals, immersive meadows weaved between guest tables and cascading top table flowers – all designed to create impact, wow guests and create beautiful photos.

At the most basic level, we will always recommend:

· Mixed florals at various heights to undulate amongst soft candlelight
· Focus your budget on creating single moments of impact to create awe.
· Forget spending money on favours and instead elevate tables with bespoke linens and dinnerware, personalised menu cards.

We regularly take time to chat through ideas with couples because we are so invested in creating unforgettable experiences for our couples and their guests.

I have a confession to make….

I adore intimate weddings!

This week I had the privilege of designing florals for an intimate ceremony of 37 guests; “a decadent delight for their most treasured people” that featured abundant florals, intimate ceremony spaces and beautifully designed indulgent tablescapes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good party but I couldn’t help but reflect on the other intimate ceremonies and how much more it provided:

1. More moments together as a couple. With less people to entertain, there is more time to enjoy time together.
2. There are moments of calm and stillness in a smaller ceremony that allow you to be more present, rather than the whirlwind of hosting with greater numbers of people.
3. Being more present, honours the ceremony and deeply connects you to the commitment you are making.
4. Leverage your wedding budget to indulge yourselves and your favourite people, by prioritising beautiful tablescapes and abundant florals, and extend the celebration over a weekend.

This ceremony pictured was two years ago and did all of those things. I am forever grateful to M&M (and H&D last week) for sharing your beautiful day 🤍

We will guide you through seasonal flowers and complimentary colour palettes; and introduce you to our world of expertly curated florals.

Guided by depths of your interests and personalities, with your venue as our canvas, we’ll work with your suppliers to transform your wedding day into something that is uniquely you.

We’ll sketch, plan and document our designs so that you know exactly what to expect and how florals integrate with your aesthetic.

1. To begin, complete our enquiry form providing as much information about your day and floral budget.

2. We’ll have an initial consultation to help learn more about you, your interests and plans for your wedding day. We’ll talk you through through some initial ideas, what to expect in working with us and ways to optimise your floral budget for impact!

3. We’ll supply a quote and initial proposal and anticipate some back and forth to get this just right.

4. Following booking, we usually plan a further 1-2 consultations from 6 months of your wedding, to build out the floral design, working with all of your wedding suppliers to design a wedding as unique as you.

Personal moments and sneaks from R&Ds beautiful wedding weekend at last month by 🤍

Rooted in deep family connections to Ireland and Yorkshire, a warm white palette of white roses (Yorkshire!) and local flora unfolded into vibrant zesty greens (Ireland!) in the venue.

Last month, we joined to create the cutest farm-inspired bridal shower for A, who is marrying her farmer fiancé this summer.

A growing trend from transatlantic brides and a tamer alternative or addition to the traditional UK hen party, this bridal shower offered a grown-up farmer girl luncheon in a private dining room, with a country-chic tablescape, reusable handbags gifts complete with DIY floral crowns, mini game booklets & wooden pens, sweet sugar cookies - all bespoke to the theme - and lots of champagne!

I have always been fascinated by nature. It feels to me both entirely infinite, as though it has always been, and yet it is so delicately fragile.

My earliest memory is the touch of blades of grass on the palms of my hand, with the warmth of my dad sitting behind me. I asked my mum if she could find a photo of this and here it is. In fact there are several…

Here is eight-month-old me – a kernel of chance. Sitting in the wild, unkept garden of the house that my mum and dad had just bought from Granny, preoccupied by the touch of grass and the composition of a flower; and so it has always been.

I adored making this… lots of locally grown flowers, from Yorkshire, Hampshire and West Sussex as well as well as some beautiful roses from a little further a field.

The couple had travelled from Australia to get married at on a beautiful June day at the most beautiful church in before their short trip to the reception
