A gorgeous afternoon of Ballet and Lyrical work. Taking technique right back to basics. Technique taught early from day 1 is key, to progress with classical work in the right way. An amazing afternoon with an inspiring and encouraging choreographer massive THANK YOU ⭐️ We held separate junior and senior sessions and it was clear that both had so much fun learning their routines and growing in confidence throughout! As Joe said, “there’s no right or wrong with this style”…to go for it! It was also lovely to see enthusiastic students from different dance schools merging together and being supportive - thank you to everyone that came! Looking forward to the next!! 🙌🏼👏🏼🔥

On International Women’s Day here is the face behind Alyx Robinson.
Alyx has danced for over 30 years starting her journey at age 3. She now co-teaches alongside her Mum at their family run dance school, which was established in 1997 and has had many success stories over the years.
Fully trained and qualified under the International Dance Teachers Association, Alyx loves to nurture natural talent and push the potential within each and every student.
With a clear understanding of the dance world and a wealth of knowledge behind her, she thrives from creating opportunities to allow all ages to perform, showcase, grow and learn through continuous experience.
Here’s to all the successful women within the Dance industry! ❤️

It was a whirlwind of talent and inspiration with such a high standard! 🌟 Now, back at the desk, sorting through the magic captured, getting ready to upload to the galleries! 💫💃

Swipe to meet our adjudicator this weekend - Amy Burrell FIDTA
Amy has danced since the age of 3 and has grown up in the world of festivals. Upon completing her training at Wirral Theatre School Amy worked as a professional performer and choreographer for ten years before opening her own dance school in 2013. She is a Fellow of the IDTA and holds qualifications in all core dance subjects as well as being certified in Gymnastics, Acro, Musical Theatre and drama.
Upon completion of her training Amy obtained dance contracts across Europe and the United Arab Emirates as well as various corporate events and UK theatre tours. She worked as a dance captain and choreographer in Greece and Cyprus and ran auditions and recruitment for several dance companies. She has choreographed theatre shows, pantomimes and scenes for the BBC.
Amy is an experienced actress and musical theatre performer having appeared in several professional UK theatre productions, commercials, TV and presenting work.
Amy now runs her own successful dance school in Wakefield, West Yorkshire alongside working as a festival adjudicator. She enjoys seeing the up and coming talent all over the country and encouraging the stars of the future.

Well what can I say?! We had soooooo much fun at today’s Barbie Workshop! Well done to all my sassy Barbie’s who really played the part, using their personalities throughout and were all dressed the part! We had some competitive games and finished off the afternoon with a performance full of attitude! Such a success - feedback quotes from a parent “you should do this every month” “Alyx, I need you in my house”! 😂🤣 More themed workshops are planned throughout the year 👀 👀 If anyone is interested in me bringing this workshop to your school please feel free to message 💞

A big round of applause to all children in today’s Conditioning & Confidence workshop!
Everyone threw themselves into the jam packed session - we learnt different stretching techniques mixed with core work, strength and balance! We finished off the afternoon with a lovely performance.
It was evident the kids increased their confidence throughout and can take ideas away with them to increase their skills!

Time: 1:00pm -3:30pm
Where: Crossgates Methodist Church Hall
Cost: £15 per child
The session is open to any child age 4+ however please consider that this is a 2.5 hour session and we would like those who do attend to complete the full schedule to get the most out of this!

⭐️ Fun team games, drills and routine to increase use of personality and enhance confidence

Meet our next adjudicator, Richard Simms…
Richard started his dance training at the age of 17 where he discovered his passion for dance and realised soon after he was a natural.
Richard began training on a BTEC performing arts course located In Doncaster and then went on to study at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and then onto a 3 year musical theatre course at S.L.P College. After Graduating with a Distinction he managed to land a job straight away on board Princess Cruise Lines where he worked professionally for 5 years.
Richard has extensive experience in choreographing pieces of work and was invited to work as assistant choreographer for Hairspray with the NYTC Youth Theatre. He has also worked on many productions such as Grease and Dirty Dancing at numerous corporate events. Richard was also lucky enough to perform on Sky One’s “Got to Dance” and he also performed with “Elite Performers” at Corporate events around the UK.
Richard successfully went on to further his dance career by gaining his teaching qualifications with the I.S.T.D and now runs his very own successful dance school which has many accolades to its name. To mention just a few, he has former students who have gone on to Bird College, The Hammond School, Urdang College and Capa College. Richard also has students in many associate programmes such as Northern Ballet, Stage Box, Yorkshire Elites Associates and Tap Attack. His exam pass rates are 100% and many of his students are very successful within their own festivals, some of them even holding championship titles. Richard has also had students who have successfully won DanceMaster Heats and therefore gone onto perform at the grand finals at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Richard loves to adjudicate and welcomes all new and upcoming talent. He especially likes to encourage the children and loves to see their individual progression. He is very much looking forward to meeting you all!
It was a warm one but amazing work to all that took part in last weekends Musical Theatre workshop, we hope everyone enjoyed themselves! Thank you to Jessica Charles for the entertaining number and training you delivered! Keep a look out for further workshops in the near future! 👀 👀 👀
