Tab & George, the brand new Mr & Mrs Holland ❤️

A ceremony full of fun stories, first meetings at a house party, a shared love of pubs & pints and an embarrassing amount of train pins 🚂

Such an amazing couple to be able to write about and a joy to talk about 😁

An extra special day getting to do a ceremony in front of several people I already know, including the bride and groom, and some wonderful people I got to meet for the first time 🥳

Thank you both for asking me to be a part of your big day - here's to many more years of happiness for you both 💕

*A traditional Romanian wedding blessing that means 'house of stone' - as in wishing you a marriage that lasts as long as a house of stone. We managed to include this and another line of Romanian in today's ceremony, even if my pronunciation was less than perfect! 🇷🇴

Today was their vow renewal - a lovely celebration of 51 years together and 44 years of marriage 🎉

An amazing life together, so far filled with music, dancing and a love for each other that is still as strong as it was in 1973 🥰

Lots of laughs and stories many of their guests had never heard before. Here's to many more 🙌🏻

This is a really fun one to write - an amazing pair, with a lot of funny stories, an amazing love for each other, big on communication and more than happy to throw in a well-placed swear word. Just my kind of people! 🙌

Today's ceremony was so much fun - with the brides not having seen the script before the day and an added surprise appearance from their dog Cooper 🐶

Love, friendship, rings, handfasting and an amazing group of friends and family to cheer them on - that's how weddings should be done 🥳

Why did I become a celebrant?

That's a question I get asked a lot and one I always like answering 😃

The short answer is it's an amazing thing to do and be a part of! 🎉

Getting to meet new people, finding out about them their story, and hopefully becoming friends along the way 💙

Getting to be creative - taking that story and what I learn about those two lovely people and turning it into a ceremony script that captures who they are and how they want to celebrate their love 🎨

Being a part of such an amazing day, helping make people happy and getting to share in all that positive energy ✨

Basically - why wouldn't anyone want to be a celebrant? 🤷

Tree planting 🌳❤️

Just one of the many symbolic acts you can choose to make your ceremony extra special 🥳

Planting a tree together symbolises the roots you are laying down that day. It is something you can take home and will grow along with your relationship. You can even choose your favourite plant and soil from places that mean something to you 🌱

As a humanist I am all about the humans involved - getting to know more about them and bringing that out in the words I write/.

The feeling of being relaxed, having fun and sharing it with people you love.

It's not about tradition for tradition's sake.

It's not about doing it the way someone else tells you.

And it's not about following a script.

Its been a very busy 2023! I'm so thankful to all the couple's who asked me to lead their ceremony and all my friends and family who have backed and supported me along the way.
