Hi Everyone,

I feel compelled to react to the news of funky town discos ceasing trading as of Sunday 6th October 2024. I carried out work for Ste Owens (owner of funky town) from 2022- August 2024. The work was the supply of dance floors, light up letters, dj services and lighting.

All the work I was given was executed by myself and team of dj’s to our usual high standards. Unfortunately, as with other suppliers I was the victim of non payment for these services. As a result of this I terminated my connection with this individual in August 2024.

I would also like to point out that my company name has been used without my permission , to take bookings for events. I would like to stipulate that I have no work in my diary going forward in relation to funky town discos.

This whole situation has caused so many innocent couples and suppliers, heartache, hardship and anger. Our industry must be based on trust and delivery of excellent service. Ste Owens has undermined all of this and has ruined a lot of plans and finances for many people.

I have worked in this industry full time for over thirty years and pride myself on the service and products that I provide and this will continue, for as long as I trade.

Unfortunately there are people who will pray upon people with the offers of great deals and cheap services. Nothing in life is for free and if a deal sounds too good to be true and if you’re pressed into paying up sooner than you have to , smell a rat 🐀!

Why didn’t I suspect all was not well ? What is common with people like this, they pay the majority of the time and give you the confidence to carry on. But you hear things and then the excuses not to pay get more regular!
I will always strive to repay the confidence shown in me by people who trust me with their important events.
Prime event hire is a business that is run on trust, professionalism and honesty.
My heart goes out to the many people affected by this awful situation.
Let’s hope justice is done!
