Happy 6th business birthday to us! 🥳

Following a career in business events, styling and visual merchandising, I took the leap in 2016 to pursue a career in planning and coordinating weddings, and boy time has flown!!

Thank you to every wonderful couple who have given me the honour of being a key part of your special day, and to every brilliant supplier I’ve worked with along the way 🥰

I’ll celebrate with champagne and cake soon, but that can wait until Sunday - right now I’m holed up in a super glam motorway Travelodge, prepping for M&D’s marquee wedding tomorrow 😅🥰

Back to Kilnsey Park for the next couple of days, for N&G’s super fun tipi wedding!

I have a real soft spot for this venue - I’ve had a wedding there almost every year! It started with S&J’s marquee wedding in 2018, then A&D’s tipi extravaganza in 2019 (pictured in this gorgeous photo here - happy nearly 3rd wedding anniversary btw you guys! 🧡) and then J&M’s super cool big day last year in 2021!

I’ve always had the best times working at Kilnsey Park 🥰 it’s a spectacular place for an outdoor wedding, with a lovely laid back vibe.

I was absolutely stoked to have been awarded Wedding Planner of the Year 2022 for Yorkshire & the North East at last month! (Look at that cheesy grin!)

The national finals are in London tomorrow, and it looks like it will be an incredible event! I sadly can’t make it due to personal reasons (booo 😢) but I’ll be there in spirit!

Wow. Celebrations were definitely in order last night! Absolutely over the moon to have been awarded “Wedding Planner of the Year” again at Awards 2022 last night.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my past, current and future clients, my fellow suppliers and my family - your support to my business means the world. And to have this recognition this year of all years is just overwhelming and humbling.

It was such a great night, and lovely to catch up with the folks at - hope there aren’t too many sore heads today! 😅

What an incredible start to the new year, and my 6th year of business. Thank you thank you thank you! Now, on to the national finals in London!

It’s been a busy old month so far, and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down!

This week is going to be full of 2023 consultations, catch ups with clients, supplier sourcing, a site visit for one of my June couples, and finishing the dreaded tax return. At some point I might even find some time to eat and sleep too!

But first, I’ll be heading on up to Newcastle for The Wedding Industry Awards. Really looking forward to having a catch up with my supplier pals and celebrating all the great work within our industry 🥰🤞🏻

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all the lovely couples who chose Kook to be a part of their wedding days this year! 2021 was incredibly tough for me on a personal level, and it’s no exaggeration to say your happy days got me through it! 🧡

Thank you also to the absolutely BRILLIANT suppliers I work with 🌟 You’re all bloody amazing. It’s been an absolute blast, and so good to get back out doing what we do best. I can’t wait to do it all again next year! Thanks also to Shindig Event Styling for welcoming me into your freelance stylist gang 🥰

My 2021 wedding season was condensed to the span of 3 months this year due to ol’ covid, but 2022 will be a busy year, with events every month from January to December. This weekend will largely be spent going through my inbox (it’s been busy over Christmas!!) and getting back on track for the next 12 months…

Next year will see us at incredible venues such as The Beverley Barn, The Granary on the Common, The Faversham, Castleton Mill, Shibden Hall, Barolin Farm Weddings, Newburgh Priory, Kilnsey Park Estate, Howard Court Weddings, The Casterton Grange Estate, Middleton Lodge Estate and lots of marquees in clients’ gardens/farms/glampsites across the North! 🥰 There’ll be big weddings, micro weddings, elopements, milestone birthdays… and I’m so excited for each and every one! Bring on 2022 🥳

They really capture the intimacy, joy and personality of the day, which I planned with the couple on from start to finish. There’s something so special about these kinds of ceremonies - each and every one truly unique 🧡

Sat and had a moment of nostalgia last night as I went through my images from this year for my entry (for which ALL of my clients have voted for me - thank you a million times over!!) 🥰😍

I’m so lucky to get to share such happy days with such lovely people in beautiful settings. This job can be very stressful when you’re having to keep so many plates spinning whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail and constantly coming up with new creative ideas… but it’s so worth it! 🧡

Which brings me on to availability… I’m now fully booked until October 2022 for On The Day Coordination, and have just ONE Full Planning space left for 2023. (I do still have good availability for Coordination throughout 2023 though)!

THANK YOU || Yesterday D&V’s big day at NORTHERN MONK REFECTORY // LDS marked Kook Events’ final wedding of the 2021 season! I just want to say thank you to each and every couple who has entrusted me with their special day this year. It is an absolute honour 😘🧡

For those who the algorithm actually shows my posts to, or those who know me on a personal level, you’ll know that 2021 has been the most difficult year of my life. I quite honestly couldn’t have got through it without the love, happiness and positivity of your weddings to focus on, and for that I’m so grateful. I have the best job in the world, and it’s all thanks to you guys for choosing to work with me 🥰 Thank you also for the cards, gifts, reviews, and votes in The Wedding Industry Awards - never expected but always appreciated!!

Also, thank you to all the INCREDIBLE suppliers and venues I’ve worked with this year! I’ve been getting some lovely couples enquiring about planning intimate weddings, even though restrictions are lifting 🧡 I’ll be honest, I love it! The level of detail and personalisation you can go into when you’re looking at designing a wedding on a smaller scale is truly amazing 👌🏻🥰

Well, amongst the madness of this summer (which has included weddings, freelancing and a very full-on house move!) I have severely neglected my Instagram feed… on the plus side, it does mean I have a whole bunch of lovely content stocked up to share! 🥳

First up, C&P’s intimate garden wedding in September…. A real wedding which genuinely looked like a styled shoot, it was so perfect and detailed 😅🧡

I worked with this utterly amazing couple throughout this year to bring their dream wedding to life in their garden - and not to toot my own horn, but it was bloody STUNNING (ok, TOOT 🎺)

Thinking about that time we created build-your-own Lego centrepieces for M&M’s wedding… It was so much fun!

As the couple are both archaeologists, guests were challenged with building ancient landmarks out of Lego, with a different landmark for each table! At the end of the meal (tacos!) the couple picked a winner! 😅
